Blonde beauty GWEN STEFANI has broken away from NO DOUBT to work on her first solo album.
The DON'T SPEAK star has worked with a diverse collection of music greats including DR DRE, THE NEPTUNES and NEW ORDER on the new record, which she describes as an "art project".
She explains, "To do a solo record means trying to pour my heart out, which I feel like I already do in No Doubt. I wanted to work with a ton of people."
"At first, it was kind of intimidating, I didn't feel I could shine. But by the end, it felt like we were in a band together!"
The album is due for release on 23 November (04).
