Secret file on Lennon to be released
By Daily Mail reporter
1 October 2004

An MI5 file documenting John Lennon's Left- wing leanings and anti-war sentiments could finally be made public 34 years on.

A U.S. judge has ordered the FBI to hand over the final ten pages of a 258-page dossier to historian Professor Jonathan Wiener.

The FBI said the missing pages would be a national security risk because a foreign government - believed to be Britain - secretly provided the information.
Professor Wiener has written two books on the ex-Beatle and waged a 20-year battle with the FBI to see the sealed papers.

He said MI5 agents tailed Lennon and Yoko Ono in 1970 and 1971, noting who they met and where they went.

He said the first 248 pages revealed efforts by President Richard Nixon to deport Lennon because of his activities against the Vietnam war in 1971 and 1972.

Lennon and Yoko released Give Peace a Chance in 1969 after staging an eight-day anti-war protest in bed. In 1971, Imagine hit number one across the world.

He was shot dead outside his New York apartment by Mark Chapman in December 1980.

Considering Chapman acted almost identically to Hinckley, BCE involvement in the Lennon murder is entirely possible. :(
