It was the original NBA team that drafted him...he never played a game for them....left to play in the ABA...

but he has a jersey up in Atlanta...as well...

You gotta love old school NBA.

Been a fan a long time myself.

If I remember the story...

he was playing for the Squires...and drafted by the Bucks...

he decided he didn't want to play for the bucks...so he tried to play for the Hawks...I think the number was 45...not sure though...and he would show up for Hawks games...suit up...then get a court order minutes before gametime...and this happened several times before the courts permanently stopped him...

The Doc...

I was heading to spring break one year...to Daytona...a ways back...

we fly out of Cleveland...land in Charlotte...for the connection to Daytona...

I upgrade to first class for free with my friend...for free...cuz they had the seats..and sitting right next to us is Doc and his kid...

He's going to Daytona for a three on three tourney (Hoop it up) that Coke or Pepsi is sponsoring...I think Coke...because he said he owned a Coke bottling company in PA...

talked to him the whole way down...he was saying that he eventually wanted to own a team...or work in the front office...which he ended up doing in Orlando...

lol...he autographed my bag...my hat...and some other shit...

then...about a month after that...I met him in Erie, PA...at a grocery store...had him sign my Cavs last game pennant...

he was there signing shit for something...not sure what...or even cared...

I asked him if he remembered me on the plane...lol...and he said..."No...I meet about 20 new people a day on planes...and he laughed...and said...wait...you were on the Daytona flight..."

lol...I must have annoyed him enough...

POJO_Risin
01-27-2004, 03:54 PM
Yeah...but these fucking knuckleheads here have no fucking clue how to plow...

some redneck on tv the other day...and this is dead serious...

it was 20 fucking degrees...and this is what the guy from DOT said...

"Well...they say it's supposed to snow and ice up...but we want to wait to lay down the salt until it starts snowing...because we think it might rain first and wash away the salt..."

Um...dumb fuck...it's fucking 20 degrees...it CAN'T FUCKING RAIN...

fucking dipshits...
