ABC ePrep is reporting that METALLICA, AC/DC, GUNS N' ROSES, DEF LEPPARD, AEROSMITH and VAN HALEN are among the bands featured on Q magazine's new list of the Top 50 Bands Of All Time. The British magazine used a formula to come up with the results for the list. Each band was rated with a point system that measured the sale of their biggest album, the scale of their largest headlining show and the total number of weeks spent on the U.K. album chart.

"Bands" that should be THROWN THE FUCK OUT OF THIS LIST ARE:

13. OASIS (And, pray tell, WHAT exactly have they done for music in general to attain #13?)

14. BON JOVI (Oh please...)

22. BACKSTREET BOYS ( )

29. SIMPLY RED (One hit wonder...)

33. SPICE GIRLS (Not even a real band!)

38. WHAM! (A few singles/hits puts them in the top 50 of all time? WTF?)

40. HOOTIE & THE BLOWFISH (Virtually non-existant on the radar since their first album)

41. STATUS QUO (Who?)

43. WET WET WET (WHO?)

44. *N SYNC (Um, no, just a vocal group running a tape)

48. THE SHADOWS (Who?)

49. BOYZ II MEN (A vocal group, not a traditional band)

Just my opinions...

Bad list, especially comming from England. Pink Floyd is not better than Led Zeppelin. The Beatles at # 8?? Come on now! Their system for checking or picking this bands is terribly flawed. Van Halen is below the Spice Girls, and *N Sync, that is sad. Oasis is #13!?!? I don't think I've even heard an Oasis song!

Where the fuck is Iron Maiden?

Three UK number one albums?

Every one of their albums top 40?

Over 20 top twenty hit singles?

Headlining "Rock in Rio 3" before a crowd of 250,000?

Headlining "Donington `88" to a crowd of 100,000?

How much bigger do you have to be to get on that list?

Fuck you, Q magazine.

they had some formula that came up with the list...it isnt some opinion thing. it was something like total album sales for their best album, highest grossing tour and something else. i'll see if i can find it again....they arent saying who is better on the list though

Yeah, but when you look at the bands outside the top 25 (and a few in the top 25) then even they should notice that their criteria is seriously flawed.

It`s plain to me that most of the bands in there are included on the strength of one massive selling album and not long term careers of consistant record sales for individual albums.

That`s probably what pushed Pink Floyd to number one with "Dark side of the moon" and the Eagles with their "Greatest hits" album.

I still can`t believe Oasis are well above The Police.

In fact, I can`t believe Oasis are in it at all.
