I really think you all should check out Sharing The Groove (http://www.sharingthegroove.org). They have the best quality bootlegs of tons of bands, in perfect lossless format. Check out what I wrote in the shn/lossless thread in this forum. They have almost no VH there, so it'd be great if we could get some VH up and spread it around.

I used to feel guilty downloading until Von showed me the light and told me it was perfectly legal to steal shit that isn't for sale. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got the '77 Atomic Punk CD to make.

Trading bootlegs **is** illegal, because corporations have far too much control over US government policies (and no, I'm not blaming this solely on the BCE, but they have definitely made things worse)

The question really is: Should it be?

If the record companies do not offer this material for sale, and have no intentions of doing so, then how are they being "ripped off"?

Increasing number of artists are bootlegging their own material. The Grateful Dead has been doing it for years. Pearl Jam and Phish are releasing entire tours on CD. Bob Dylan, Frank Zappa, The Beatles, and Bruce Springsteen are just a few of the artists who have taken previously bootlegged material from the vaults and put it out officially. And God only knows it sounds a lot better.

Trading and sharing should be legal...

I don't care if it's legal or not. I only get what I want.
