School demands proof of virginity from girls

A school in Peru is reportedly being investigated after officials demanded that all girls provide a virginity certificate while registering.

The mother of a girl at the Santa Rosa de Trujillo School in Trujillo complained to police about the school's requirements.

Cristian Cespede, a relative of the girl told Las Ultimas Noticias: "They are asking for a virginity and a drug test. This is so disrespectful."

Cespede said both the student and her mother are 'very depressed' over the school's request.
