I'm going out to let my real talent show, not to just stand there and dance around. Personally, I'd never lip-synch. It's just not me.

Saturday Night Live was not as "Live" as people expected last night. Musical Guest Ashlee Simpson poorly lip-synched her first song, and then a technical glitch or mistake led to the wrong vocal track being played for her second performance proving her fraud as she stood there confused while her recorded voice filled the airwaves . Simpson's band picked up the slack, attempting to save the show as Ashlee walked off the stage. Just a minute in (on a musical segment usually four or more minutes long) SNL pulled the plug, cutting quickly to a commercial.
And later in the show she proceeds to blame it on her band: " I feel so bad, my band started playing the wrong song, and I didn't know what to do so I though I'd do a hoe-down. I'm sorry!"

If you are unwilling to sing in front of a studio audience of atleast 50 people, and a tv audience of millions, you are a complete punk. I'm glad it happened. Hopefully it will put a scare into others who want to get by on their looks and scam the fans. By the way, she ain't so hot either.

This is the link. It is really funny because Jude Law tries to help Ashlee explain her miscue by saying, "this is live TV." Ashlee basically then says "I didnt know what to do" after her band supposedly started playing the wrong song (which doesn't explain why her band was live but her voacal were piped in) so she "thought I'd do a hoe-down." NEW YORK (AP) - If Ashlee Simpson's stomach was upset Saturday night, imagine how she's feeling now. Busted for a "Saturday Night Live" lip-synch gone awry, her manager-father said Monday his 19-year-old daughter used the extra help because acid reflux disease had made her voice hoarse.

"Just like any artist in America, she has a backing track that she pushes so you don't have to hear her croak through a song on national television," Joe Simpson told Ryan Seacrest on Los Angeles radio station KIIS-FM. "No one wants to hear that."

He insisted it would be Ashlee's live voice alone during her appearance on NBC's "Radio Music Awards" Monday night.

And he said she's never used the extra help onstage before.

Simpson had performed her hit single "Pieces of Me" without incident earlier on "SNL." When she came back a second time, her band started playing and the first lines of her singing "Pieces of Me" could be heard again.

She was holding her microphone at her waist at the time. Simpson looked momentarily confused as the band plowed ahead with the song and the vocal was quickly silenced.

A flustered Simpson made some exaggerated hopping dance moves, then walked off the stage.

The incident exposed what many consider an obvious secret: that some singers who appear onstage aren't singing live at all, or at least have their voices augmented by backing tracks.

"Every artist that I now in this business has had vocal problems at some time - from Celine on down," said Joe Simpson, also father of Jessica Simpson. "So you've got to do what you've got to do."

He said it was his decision to use the tapes when it became apparent that acid reflux disease had swollen Ashlee's vocal chords. After consulting Wayne Newton's doctor, she received a cortisone shot to get her ready for the "Radio Music Awards," he said.

It was the band's drummer who pushed the wrong button onstage, he said.

Simpson was the talk of the Internet after the appearance.

"Go away, Ashlee," wrote one on her Web site. "If you wanna be famous for something, choose something you can actually do. Maybe you could get naked for Playboy."

Other fans leapt to her defense.

"Mistakes happen," said another posting. "You're probably all just jealous because you sit at home and wish you were a celebrity and then as soon as one has a mishap, you're right there to rub it in."

To add to Ashlee's indignity Monday, eBay.com was auctioning off her private cell phone number, which it said had been inadvertently, and briefly, posted on her Web site.

The music industry has really taken a nose dive in the last ten years. Technology has made life to easy, especially for entertainers. The industry is shoving talentless pretty people down the publics throats. You never heard Elvis or Frank Sinatra say I need to dubb my voice tonight, I have acid reflux. And rip on DLR's voice all you want but at least he belts his tunes out live without the help of a voice track.
I am not a fan of Elton John but his attack on the hypocrite Madonna was totally justified. The industry really needs to start focusing on musicians again, individuals and bands who can actually sing and play their instruments. It's really scary that the crap that's being put out these days will one day be considered classic????????

Two summers ago the top selling tours were mostly classic rock acts, not rap, not boy bands, or alternative bands. Wow maybe the American public is not as gullible as the industry would like them to be. But the youth of today are rebellious and instead of having a Led Zepplin or party band like the original VH to blare out of their bedroom stereo's, the industry has given them Rap or Thug music. I use the term music lightly. This stuff is the Professional wrestling of the music industry. You don't have to carry vocal talent, just talk into the mike and spew off rhymes about killing cops, beating up your mom and exploiting women as hoes and your a hit. You don't even need to play an instrument, there will be a fine upstanding DJ behind you with two turntables and a microphone playing any backup track you need to get through your show. This group of so called entertainers needs to take a hint from the top selling act of this past Summer. The artist Prince. He can play several instruments and has vocal ability. The american public showed their appreciation for his talent by making him one of the top selling tours of the summer. The music industry is in serious trouble, lets hope actual talent comes back to the forefront.

On Saturday, when she was supposed to be doing a live performance for the sketch show, her vocals kicked in before she’d put the microphone to her lips. She then left the stage. At first she blamed her band, saying they played the wrong song, which left her flustered.

Then came reports that Simpson had admitted to lip syncing because she was suffering from some vocal trouble.

“I can't cancel something like 'SNL,"” she supposedly wrote on her website. “You and I know that even if I synched on it or not, I'd still get seen by millions, maybe even make a few more fans.”

“I'll hold my head high and say I think it was silly of me to do it, silly of me to blame the band, I was just so f---ing embarrassed…But I don't think it did me much harm, and people will see that soon.”

To Golden Awe, Elton blasted Madonna for lipsincing during parts of her show and I think he is right in doing that. Members of Queen also felt Elton was correct. I refuse to pay my hard earned money to watch a concert where there is lipsincing. If an act is going to pull a stunt like that then they should be up front with there fans. Unfortunatley most of the teeny boppers today could seem to care less.
