Bush

Bush, I think. It's gonna be hard to tell. I just don't think Kerry'll back down if it's too close. Both sides didn't hire all those lawyers for nothing.

I say if people start trashing the thread, move it to the Dump. We seem to have had some luck with her not dragging her internet detractors in here so far. I'd rather not see her start now.

Kerry will be declared the winner at approximately 8:30 PM Pacific time.

And there better not be any early projections, even good ones, because we gotta keep a Bushclone fascist pig out of the governor's mansion here too!

I've given up on caring who wins. Nothing will change. Will the state get smaller if one of these candidates are elected? Will I have more rights? Will endless war end? Will taxes end? I'm not going to delude myself into thinking that one is better than the other. They're all the same underneath. Statists. Even Ralph Nader is in on it at some level. How can the state save people from the state? I've given up on thinking that one brand of socialism can save us from the other. It's just stupid thinking.

I accept the lose/lose situation. If Kerry wins, the Republicans will scream at Kerry for doing the exact same thing Bush did in the next 4 years and the Democrats will thoroughly praise him for it. It's insanity, but it's fun to watch sometimes.

Like I said yesterday, Kerry's just a Band Aid for a situation that requires major surgery, but it's better than bleeding to death.

Pink Spider
11-02-2004, 11:33 AM
But you're still trying to stop a flesh eating virus with a Band-aid.

You prefer the Band-aid to a hospital.

Add to the fact that the Band-aid has an anticoagulant on it.

FORD
11-02-2004, 11:41 AM
At this point the patient is stranded in the middle of the desert (literally) and it's impossible to get to the hospital any time soon. So do you take your chances with the Band Aid and keep moving towards the hospital, or do you lay down on the sand and fucking die?

Neither choice is ideal, but one is somewhat practical.

Pink Spider

If you're stuck in the middle of the desert bleeding to death, a Band-aid won't save you. So, the lesson would be, never get stranded in the middle of the desert bleeding to death. ;)

I agree we never should have been in the desert in the first place, but that wasn't the question. Believe me, I'd much rather have an ambulance pull up with Dr. Dean driving,, and David Lee Roth as the EMT, but that's not in the script either :(

And this is after my adventure in Manhattan were almost everyone in NOHO was wearing Bush pins.

no, i hear you.

my area's probably moderate democrat, but the northern virginia polls have had kerry up by 12% (still means the state's going red). but that's much better than gore did in northern virginia.

so i go to vote this morning and damn near every ethnic minority in line's holding a republician sample ballot.

now, we're pretty diverse here, so i in no way expect all of the minorities to vote democratic. but the overwhelming amount of republican sample ballots was definititly a bit unexpected.

i guess it's what makes elections so interesting. politics and frat parties...never quite know who you're ending up in bed with!

Kerry wins popular vote by 4% and gets about 300 electoral college votes.

The election will be remembered only as "fairly close" - not the nail-biter most expected.

Analysts will blame cell phone users.

Future polls done through combo of text messaging on cell phones and land lines after all polls from this election are criticised as innacurate.

Bush has got the Vietnamese and (some of the) Korean vote around here, from what I can gather. Kerry, on the other hand, has the votes of other ethnic groups like Salvadoreans, Indians, Pakistanis, Iranians, Africans, etc.

My boss said he's going to vote Democratic for the first time in his life; and he's a white male business owner.

Folks haven't spoken much about VA being a swing state, but all the polls have showed the race at a solid 3%. Obviously, history is VERY MUCH against Kerry here - but NO ONE I know that is a Kerry supporter is using the "my vote won't matter" logic. A lot of folks used that last election here.

it's funny, the korean groups are usually democratic in the local elections here.

and, now that you're in arlington, steve, i suspect you're around a few more democratic voters...;)

but, i hear tell that unlike 2000, fairfax might just go democrat this election. my guess is that virginia still goes red, but it will be closer than anticipated.

John Ashcroft

That something is that you live in New York Darling. You're innundated with predictions of a close race. Have faith in the voters throughout the country. Bush will lose New York and California for sure. But He's going to sweep the midwest and alot of the coastal states.

Have faith.

What "coastal states" do you think Chimpmeister could win?

Aside from a couple on the Gulf Coast maybe?

John Ashcroft
11-02-2004, 04:10 PM
The Carolinas, Florida, New Hampshire, and Virginia

Not to mention Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas (for Gulf coast states), and close states like West Virginia, Georgia, Kentucky, etc.

Alaska will go for Bush as well.

Well, probably the Carolinas :(

I wouldn't be surprised if at least one of those flipped over to Kerry.

Alaska will go for Bush as well.

Can you count it as a "coastal" state if the water's frozen
