Just like the Sammy v.s. Dave contest.........

And if you must know, Yankee Rose is better.

No contest... Yankee Rose baby! A better question would've been Panama or Unchained? Jump or Yankee Rose? Runnin' with the Devil or Mean Street?

Yankee Rose has some of the greatest lyrics ever. Music kicks ass, too.

Well, it seems obvious by now, but Yankee Rose is light years ahead of She's My Machine.

Neither song makes Dave's top 25 solo songs.

His best solo songs include: Elephant Gun, Skyscraper, Perfect Timing, Drop In The Bucket, 40 Below, No Big Ting, Sunburn, Wa Wa Zat, King Of The Hill etc.

Oddly enough, I have to go with "She's My Machine." There's something special in Dave delivery that hooks me.

'She's my Machine' is pretty good and would get my vote in several other polls. But you chose the best, most-inspired Dave tune of all time - not my favorite - but the best lyric and musicwise. 'Yankke Rose' wins, of course.

My favorite is still 'A Lil' Ain't Enough'. Followed by 'I'll Wait'. :D

Cheers! :bottle:

If it's between She's My Machine or Slam Dunk!, I'd say SMM.

Yankee Rose everytime....comparing these two great songs isn't unfair at all...both brilliantly kick-started the albums they were in and i actually love them both....but i totally disagree with guys that say it's a 'no-contest'..that's stretching it too far...She's My Machine is a high-octane burner too, with a definite CVH flavour to it...Dave's aggressive delivery makes it loads of fun and the band's playing is nothing to sneeze at(at least on this song)..

But Yankee Rose is in a league of its own...Dave sounded so much sharper and stronger then and the superb lyrics and delivery clinch it for me....i never liked Steve Vai's playing too much, and it makes me wonder how Yankee Rose would have panned out had Terry , Mike or John made guitars scream for Dave to wow us all over again with that 20 yr old classic..
