Which Super Bowl of the first 37, I mean XXXVII, do you guys think is the best?

I mean there were many classics and there were many thuds. As of this writing I have to go with Super Bowl X. Pittsburgh beats Dallas 21-17. What a great game. Very entertaing and very exciting. Super Bowl XIII, again Pitt vs. Dall, with the Steelers winning again, 35-31 was another classic.

Pitt and Dallas have played in 3 Super Bowls. That's a record.
Dallas, Buffalo twice
SF, Cin twice
Mia, Wsh twice

Did I miss any multiple matchups?

I wasn't alive then but the 21-17 is considered by many to be the greatest Super Bowl ever played.

Most of the time they suck, but we did have two great games in Super Bowl 34 (Rams 23, Titans 16) and Super Bowl 36 (Patriots 20, Rams 17).

I think you have the multiples correct.

For it's significance, it would be hard to not include at least at or near the top, Super Bowl III. The Colts were suppose to mow the Jets down, blow them out. Some journalists back then were predicting like 40 point victories for the Colts. So the game didn't lack drama. A huge game in the history of the league.

The "Guarantee" was only icing for what the game really stood for, which was establishing the AFL as viable enough a league to merge with the NFL and create what we have now. Joe guaranteeing the win just created the perfect lead in for Kansas City's win the next year and the cementing the decision to merge.

You were right about SB X, Lynn Swann's performance. Hell, the Rams-Titans was down to the wire and a yard short. You could make an argument for a few games looks like.

I'd go with Super Bowl ten myself...and I concur with both the Steelers Cowboys matchups...

the third was gearing up to be a good one as well until that asshole O'Donnell went color blind and threw two idiotic picks to that asshole...what was his name?...Larry Brown?...of course I could be thinking of the coach of the Pistons...

Wasn't it the first Cowboy/Steeler matchup where the TE blew an easy td catch that essentially cost them the game?

The second. Jackie Smith dropped one right to him. Deflated the Cowboys.

I remember an interview with him a couple of years back...

He was talking about how he thinks about it every day...

You know it has to kill him. Scott Norwood too. Hell, Bill Buckner. The Chris Webber timeout, we tore the house up.

Sports can be tough sometimes.

The funny thing is, it wasn't the last play of the game or anything.

There was plenty of time left.

No...but Dallas was comin' on like gang busters...and that play really ended the momentum to a certain extent...they still had a chance...but it never materialized...

Super Bowl XX with Da Bears!!!!

First Super Bowl appearance by the Pats and they got their asses handed to them 46-10!!!

The Bears simply mowed people down that season. Marino and the Fins hand them their only loss on a Monday night.

Scary defense.

superbowl 22. doug williams goes frin 10 points down and a sure loser into 5 TDs in a quarter.

(though, that's from a skins fan perspective)

in terms of excitement, yesterday's was good. but rams over titans with the last ditch tackle was pretty damn exciting.
