So you're an American then, right? Or are you Canadian? Do you call yourself an American or Canadian when you travel? That's right, I thought so. As usual, I'm right and you're wrong. I own your ass. Give up, bitch. :gulp:

Actual, an American is an inhabitant of America, not a continent. It's usually used to mean someone from the US, but can also refer to anyone in the Americas, regardless of country if the proper adjectives are added to it.

North America and South America, also said as the Americas, are the continents. When you say America on its own, it really sounds like you are talking about the US, only because it is so often referred to as such.

Now, you can continue to educate us, oh wise one.

edit -- seeing your other post, I don't know if I would go on claiming to be so much smarter if I didn't have a grasp on simple grammar rules.

Can any Roth Army members from Cuba, Yemen, China, Uganda, or Venezuela lend their thoughts? I’m curious about your peoples' thoughts on our capitalism, Constitution, and hygiene. Can anyone from France offer their thoughts on how they view American free speech while they’re arresting Brigitte Bardot for bashing Arabs? Also, could someone from Russia tell me about how George Bush is stealing our civil liberties while Putin secures democracy for not only Russia, but the Ukraine as well?!

These international opinions will really help us create a better society based on your stunning record of bloody wars, famine, socialism, and dictatorship.

I'll throw in my two cents....

I do not think Iraq was all about terrorism.
In my opinion Afghanistan was the right path...to me it seems Osama got away a little too easily.

The direction of the Bush administration seems too domineering.
Bush keeps his faith too close to his politics...Middle Eastern leaders have the same problem.

Therefore...

For me too say I dislike the USA because of Bush would be unfair...I do not have a problem with the USA...or it's people.
There is a good variety of americans here...some I would love to meet.

Too paint the whole country with one brush because of the dislike for it's leader is narrow minded...even dangerous....that is how terrorists justify their acts.

In Bush's defence I will say I was impressed with some of the stuff he said on his 'working trip' North.
He can be quite funny...even self depreciating...which is a good quality.
Hat's off to his speach writers...

Venezuelans and Ugandans can.

Most people, even in the "free" third world, cannot afford much in the way of internet access. Being rich makes it easier to talk about freedom. It also makes it easier for us to 'Americanize' the rest of the world in stark black and white terms (i.e. Free vs. Communist) as opposed to free and poor, free and rich, living under a fascist dictatorship but relatively rich, etc.

Some of my "Faux n' Friends" can't seem to get past any criticism of U.S. foreign policy as anything other than a case of "America Haters." Hell you can't even criticize America as an American, and not often be labeled as an "America Hater."

But I liken it to this, if you have an alcoholic family member you love that is emotionally and physically self-destructive, you are not showing him or her love by blindly accepting his or her misdeeds such as driving drunk (with fear into Iraq) or abusing his family members (with The Patriot Act). You are only showing blind allegiance like the "good Germans" before WWII.

One of the few things I will give our ex PM credit for is that he told Bush he was wrong.

Bush did not forget....at a ceremony during his vist he went up to a table of people that Cretien was sitting at...shook their hands but skipped by Jean.

Cretien felt Afghanistan was where efforts should of been focused and to switch theatres mid stroke was a disservice to the Afghan people and search for Osama...

Perfect post!

In London last year I met a couple of Texan tourists in a bar who felt they had to apologise for 10 minutes about Bush after the initial introductions.

I was like 'Don't be silly I hate all politicians, t's not your fault for fuck sake'.

Then got a look from the SM for saying fuck within 10 minutes of meeting nice respectable Texans...:)

I was shocked to learn that it was a full 2 months after 9-11 before any troops, even special forces, arrived in Afghanistan.

No wonder he got away.

In any case Osama is just a convenient bogeyman. He's shit and been raised way above his importance.

Catching him wouldn't make much difference at this point except for the poiticians.

I think most Americans simply don't care what other countries think about their foreign policy, or how they are viewed as US citizens. The reason for that is they know who the rest of the world comes to when they need help...and then, the very people who have been cursing your country like a dog are kissing your ass. I'm not defending that attitude, but it does exist on a widespread scale.

please read the thread BUSH VISIT CANADA, that's where it all started..

I don't hate americans,I just find it extremely sad that bush id ruining it for AMERICANS by promoting war instead od peace and so on..

in 2004 ,almost 2005 I can't believe that people in the US don't protest more against him and basically accept to pay a bill$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ that should,ve never been there and it keeps goin further and further...

USA should be the place where there is very little pollution, there should'not be people in the street, and most of all the rest of the should want to be like ( the usa) ...

but it's not, it is unfortunate that all the thechnology and knowledge is there to really make this a good place to be but your administration is ruining it for the people and no body seem to give a shit about it..

so let's keep on trying to be the one that exploits and not the exploited.

let's keep on using gas and polluting and dealing with the arab country instead of using clean energy that is already devellop.

let,s go to war for the wrong reason; to protect our money

and if we don't have any interest where there is trouble let's not go there period.

this is basically maybe in your mind a stupid way of seeing what is happening now in usa and other country, but it is my opinion and I think i am entitle to it and that thefront line is a place where i can display it , without prejudice.

Should ANYONE in the world give a toss about who likes them or not? It seems as if the Euros and the American Liberals never graduated from high school. Life is not a popularity contest. A healthy trade relationship and peace should be the extent of international relationships, not some lofty global community in which we all hold hands and form alliances to feed the starving children of the Congo. We should all just mind our own respective businesses and take care of our own in house matters. America should stop policing the world, Europe should stop being envious of us and stop starting wars, and the third world should stop blaming the West for their problems and start modernizing their pig stys. Isolationism has its perks!
