So I bought tix to take my son to see the Broadway Musical~ OLIVER
and tonight I find out that they have laid off 1/2 of the musicans and are replacing them with synthacizers(sp?) Now the LOCAL 7 musicans union is going on strike and wont be playing AT ALL... So what is supposed to be a live MUSICAL... Is now just synths and recorded music. No Orchestra! That's not LIVE! I want my money back... 1/2 of the GLORY for me is the live music. I played the flute for 18 years and I think that putting musicians out of work, and replacing them with machines is a total insult to MUSIC! Why will anyone NEED to pick up and instrument if it all can be dubbed. The field of MUSICAN is going to die! NO need for kids to pick up instruments anymore... Sheesh...

OK Rant off!
