I recently bought the Black Crowes: Live recently and that kicks ass. Sammy Hagar- Hallelujah: Live is awesome, too. There's plenty of others that I can name, but I'm interested in what everyone else thinks/has.

Oh man, Kiss Alive II! That's an album I played to death when I was a kid. First Kiss album I bought, purely on the strength of the double gatefold cover - it seemed to promise something very exciting :) .

That was the point I stopped listening to Iron Maiden singing about WW2 fighter aces and ancient Greek generals and got into sleaze.....

Still, a man can change, and now I can confidently state that John Coltrane's Complete 1961 Village Vanguard Recordings 4-cd box set is by far the greatest live recording of all time :p

MANOWAR KILL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HAIL METAL BROTHER!!!!!! "Manowar Hell on Earth Part 2: Blood in Brazil" DVD is the BEST damn shit I've bought since "Priest Live" and "Live After Death" in '87. Kiss alive cd's are classics too... The Manowar DVD is worth it just for the Belgium performance of "Bridge of Death", and the Potugal show with "Dark Avenger"!! Besides the fact that they tore Sao Paolo in HALF with their unreal set at The Monsters of Rock 1998... Fuckin' KILLER!! HAIL!!! Death to FALSE METAL, ASSHOLES!!!!

Maiden - Live after Death is a classic
AC/DC - If you want blood is great (though the Let There Be Rock film was better)
Nick Cave - Live Seeds
Better Than Ezra - Live at the house of blues is good but lacks any medleys or covers which make their shows so much fun.
Radiohead - I Might Be Wrong

Non-commercial releases:
Nine Inch Nails - live at woodstock
Radiohead at Oxford
I've got some fab Weezer and Cure shows as well.

Wow...no one has mentioned:

1.The Who, Live at Leeds Deluxe Edition. You cannot go wrong with this. The complete live "Tommy" blows the studio release away.

If you do not own this, you must purchase it immediately.

2. Al Kooper and Mike Bloomfield, Lost Concert Tape.
This is a fucking amazing disc! AMAZING! features first recorded appearance of Johnny Winter. Their version of 'One Way Out" is killer, they also do a cool blues version of "the 59th street bridge song"

3. The Who, Who's Next Deluxe Edition. The second disc is a performance in london in 1971 where they debut songs like "won't get fooled again" and behind blue eyes" This is a must!

4. Jimi Hendrix, Wild Blue Angel. what can I say, fucking A. Outstanding performance from The Isle of Wright in 1970.

Buy these if you don't have them, you will not be dissapointed!

Live at Leeds has been released 3 different times on CD.

The first was just a direct
copy of the original vinyl album, released in about 1987.

The second edition was one full CD maxed out at 78 minutes, with remastered tapes and about double the material of the original album. - Mid 90's release.

The Deluxe Edition (2 CD's) is the entire Leeds concert, including a full performance of Tommy. As AlMo said, the version on this CD blows away the studio version of Tommy.

A full Tommy show from 1970 is also available on the Who's album "Live at the Isle of Wight" from the same period. It's another great performance, but the production on the Leeds album completely blows it away.

MANOWAR´s performance of "HATRED" in Germany and "GUYANA(Cult Of The Damned) were FUCKING AMAZING!!!!!!.

Brother, You should buy HELL ON EARTH PART 3, 5 hours and 30 minutes of pure Ass Kicking Heavy Metal!!!!.Their Performance at the RINGFEST in Cologne is Over The Top. That Concert is shorter than the one they did at the Phillips Monsters Of Rock In Sao Paolo-Brazil, but man... i didn´t give a fuck about that, IT KICKED FUCKING ASS!!!! they played a couple of new songs in that festival, "WARRIORS OF THE WORLD UNITED" and "HOUSE OF DEATH"

Hell Yes!

Manowar`s "Hell on stage" is up there!

Disc one is unbeatable.

Also:

Judas Priest "Unleashed in the East"
Iron Maiden "Live after death"
Kiss "Alive"
Pink Floyd "Is there anybody out there?"
Whitesnake "Live...in the heart of the city"
Kiss "Alive II"
Yes "Yesongs"

Fave boot:

Queensryche "Saints and sinners 24/5/95" : Awesome crystal clear quality.

Geeze, what's left?

Rush - All the World's a Stage and Exit Stage Left

Jimi Hendrix - Band of Gypsies

Led Zeppelin - The Song Remains the Same (not perfect, but still incredible)

Grateful Dead - Europe '72 is great if you want to chill out

oh yeah, that's what I forgot:

Humble Pie - Rockin' the Fillmore this is the fuckin' most under-rated live album ever. It is so god-damn awesome I can't even describe it! It blows "Frampton Comes Alive" out of the water. This is worth mentioning because FCA is the highest selling live album of all time.

Forgot about that one.

100 times better than the "Live in Paris" 2CD also included in the "Bonfire" boxset.

You would think they would have overdubbed the out of tune bass in "Live wire" for the film and the album as it spoils the whole thing for me.

DOKKEN'S "BEAST FROM THE EAST".

Fucking unreal. I have ALWAYS had a hard, hard time listening to a extra length live album by ANYONE, but I will NEVER get tired of listening to George and Don rip it up on that one. So far as I'm concerned, Beast from the East is one of the top 3 rock/metal live albums ever recorded to this day.
