View Full Version : Corporate Media Whore compares Junior speech to The Word of GOD!!

The closest thing to a sermon I can remember. Not on the Mount, but on Capitol Hill, complete with the appropriate references to Martin Luther King! The Republicans around me were applauding, but I think they understood—and perhaps were made a bit nervous by—their man’s ambition. And what was his “realist” dad thinking up there on the dais?
Now all George W. Bush—and the rest of us—have to do is live up to The Word.

Note - "The Word", capitalized. And as the first chapter of John reminds us, "The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us." So in other words, Fineman is not only comparing Junior's pathetic speech to the Sermon on the Mount, but actually comparing the Idiot himself to Jesus Christ!

But then what else would you expect from a member of the Great Whore of Babylon that enables the Antichrist?

Anyone have any examples of when the state and religion mix where it didn't end bad?

My definition of religion? Are you kidding? First of all the word and the thing itself have different uses and purposes in different cultures.

In a Western sense:

A system of beliefs serving two purposes for two distinct groups.

1. for people: traditional superstitions (the word doesn't need to have bad connotation there) that serve to answer man's questions about the world around him and his place in it. Naturally this aspect has a useful place in society.

2. for leadership: traditional superstitions that can be used to prevent subjects from critically thinking and to stop them from questioning authority. Also useful for inciting hatred, riots, and other violent behavior

I wonder who will have it worse, Howard Fineman, or some bozo on some message board who pretends to be Jesus Christ?

Why the sudden change of heart? You hoping to get a front row seat when Putin hooks up with the Arabs and starts rolling tanks into Israel?

Knowing what you do, I am very glad that Americans like you volunteer for war, although I sincerely hope you're not wishing for Iran.

Rest assured, you'll be needed if it arises. I hope you have training in treating exposure to chemicals.
