I don't know if it's possible, or difficult to implement, but has anyone given any thought to giving people the option of blocking pictures while they browse? I don't see anything for it in User CP. I think it would be useful for people who want to log in and browse, but don't want any "surprise" pictures showing up. I browse without logging in a lot to avoid these surprises.

Thanking you in advance for your consideration,
-Figs

If using Internet Explorer:

Tools>Internet Options (or may say Internet Properties)>Advanced Tab

Go down to Multimedia:

Uncheck "Show pictures"

Then "Apply" and then "OK"

And that will turn the pictures off.

Search google, there are plenty of image on/off switches that actually work better/easier you can add to your taskbar.

Oh, just remembered a link:

user.aol.com/ojatex/admad.htm

about half way down the page.

Hope that was of benefit

Roth On.

Thanks Tom, but wouldn't that block all pictures on every site I visit? I would just like to block the pictures that people upload.

Although I didn't know about image on/off switches, that might be a good option. Thanks again.

image block is an option in newer versions of Vbulletin. we have it over at Von's. maybe there's a hack or something.
