I use AJAX myself. I really enjoy it, and pulling that tube of Ajax out of my closet is one of my favorite moments of the week!!:)

Boy, it gets me so excited to clean the bathtub. You know those mornings when you release a whole gallon of urine into the bathtub while showering? Well, you can't just rely on hot water to clean it up!

I'm going with the muriatic acid, in a 50% solution of hot water and dish soap.

Buddy of mine was moving out, splitting up with his wife and I felt bad for her enough to move her pot-smoking ass out; true story..

He's complaining about the fucking filthy tub and shower tile, that they won't get the cleaning deposit back because the fat bitch never cleaned shit around the pad.

So I look at the pile of cleanser-bottles he was bagging for the trash and wondered about the Mysteries of Mixing Chemicals - why not have some fun with this shit and just see what happens?

He's like, I'm depressed from going thru this divorce, you fuck with it if you wanna.. and of course I Wanna'ed.

First I filled the tub with pure hot water, all the way to the drain-level before dumping a large box of TSP (tri sodium phosphate) in there, mixing it around.

THEN I grabbed a large coffeepot and splashed the shit onto the walls and ceiling till the whole fucking atmosphere was like unto a small, dense cloud of steam. Afterwhich, I cut the lids of the half-gone Ajax and Comet cleansers and dusted ALL THE TILES TO AND INCLUDING THE CIELING.

Then, I splashed all the liquid soaps left in there on the walls: shampoo, dish soaps, that Dow Scrubbling Bubbles Cleanser.. and Windex.

What occured next was alot of gagging for oxygen, so I opened a window and as my sense of smell and taste returned, as did the blood in my face, I realized why you don't mix chemicals because bleaches and soaps create chlorine gas..

Well, I took off to eat and drop a load for them, and when I came back that nite it looked like the tile was fucked up like it was peeled paint bending backwards and falling in cracked portions into the tub. What it REALLY was, was all that buildup of soap scum coming off in a sort of "sheeting-action" of small pieces, with VOILA - gleaming fucking beautiful shiny-as-new yellow tile and parch-white groutlines beneath it!

I grabbed that coffeecan again and started splashing the crust off and it wasn't too much trouble to finish. My buddy and his ex-cunt were amazed "How did you do it, Gar?"

My best conclusion is that it was the caustic effect from the chlorine gas that ate off 35 years of crusty filth off the tub walls and tiled stall. It was THAT gross.
