Ok, what's the worst music video you have ever seen?

Clearly Pat Boone doing that Ozzy re-make video had to be the worst.

But, I came across this on the internet and puked!

David Hasselhoff: (BayWatch Fame) "Hooked on a Feeling"

The worst video I ever saw was the lead singer of the bronski beat,
(some gay english fag band) singing some fucked up love song to his
boyfriend swimming in a swimming pool..

If anyone else has seen this, they will know what Im talking about.

WTF, wooooo

We have to have some boundaries here Panamark. Give me a break, baaaaawaaaaaa.

I mean, the Black Shit Puppy Farm had a worthless video but who saw it,......like Bronski Beat.

I'm talking main stream videos, people/bands we all know.

I mean like in my top ten worse music videos, I've got VH's Pretty Women on the list. How much dope did this boys smoke to come up with that POS?

When Im calling your name "Marilyn"
a gay love song to Boy George...

Thats a close second..

Something about those openly gay videos that piss me
right off... I guess its because they are so FUCKING GAY !

These music videos made me want to smash the TV
(As a reckless young head banger) much in the same
way Spammy's voice made me want to smash the
Radio/Stereo.

Its ok, I feel a lot better after the Lithium.

Worst video: Ice Ice Baby

Your're right Pretty Woman is sooooooo bad, it is actually good. I laugh my ass off how bad it is every time I see it.

For the worst videos (non-gay vids, Panamark), I will find and post links to the videos here. I haven't seen the Ice Ice video, will find it and post a link.

Isn't that the song, Vanilla Ice sampled the lead in off Queen's
"Under Pressure" song and Freddie Mercury wanted to sue the hell out of the guy but Brian May so no, because Queen was so busy with their work and on Tour? (**)

Anyway, like we'll end up with the R.A.'s Top Ten Worst Video List with links to the video.

Again non-gay videos Panamark. I mean Flock of Seagulls, Boy George and the rest of the lot, had some real stinkers, but they don't count.

(**) Just look it up, yeah that is the song.

1968 Robert Van Winkle born to Beth Mino, Miami Lakes FL.
1986 Drops out of high school.
1988 Changes "rap name" from MC Vanilla to Vanilla Ice.

1990 Hit Ice Ice Baby, in which he blatantly rips off a 1982 Queen riff from Under Pressure. Inexplicably sells 15 million copies. Settles out of court with Queen/Bowie. Ice claims Suge Knight forced the issue at gunpoint: "He took me over to the balcony, and he had me look over. He says to me, 'You're gonna sign these papers'... I signed it. I gave millions away."
---------------

Ok now I remember, actually David Bowie wrote the song, but Queen got to use it.

A Little Ain't Enough.

All you'd have to do is put David St. Hubbins as a stand-in for Dave in that video (and come to think of it, they DO look sorta similar), and you'd have the video for the first release off of Shark Sandwich.

Dont know if its the worst, but the first thing I thought of is Shook Me All Night Long by AC/DC, the one little set of stage lights in the video is pretty funny, not exactly a big budget video like they would do in later years....Anyone ever see the U.K. version of Pour Some Sugar On Me by Def Leppard? Its basicly some fat broad destroying a house with a wrecking ball, really really bad....

I met two of those chicks (the drummer and that hot lead guitarist with the long hair) once when they came into the same place I and some biz bros were eating for lunch.

Went and introduced myself and we rapped a little bit. They were cool.

I mean you gotta admit the chicks were very hot, rustoffa.

PS: Ok dammit, I'll come clean, I got their autograph also, LOL. I mean what can I say, all the blood had rushed out of my brain to another part of my anatomy.

Hmmm...

Foo Fighters 'Times Like These'

They did two videos for this - one playing below a bridge and one....

They did it one of those 'green' rooms. You know where they film something and if they want to make it look like someones flying, or super-impose something there or whatever, they use a green thingy and that can then be edited on the video footage, and be removed, or changed or whatever. They went into a room that had walls like this green stuff. They then created a video by editing what the green stuff was, and changed it to something that looked like a Windows Media Player visual............

It sounds wierd I know, but I don't know about that green stuff or whatever. But the results were not good.......

Yeah I remember that one and have a video link. Benatar is a tough chick and she quit the business because the label kept exploiting her looks and bod, and not promoting her music like she wanted.

Her husband who played in the band, Neil Geraldo, is a really cool guy and a great guitarist.

Video: Pat Benatar – “Promises in the Dark”

"Left Click to Play/Right Click to Download" (mms://213.132.96.108/Archive/01EP005200_1000.wmv)

Yes, as a musician, I have always been impressed with Benatar's husband, and lead guitarist in her band, Neil Giraldo. I was flipping TV stations, and on the country music channel, they had Pat, Neil and the band, along with country's Martina McBride doing a gig.

Only saw the last half of it, but Neil can still light up a fret board, and on one song, Benatar blew McBride right off the stage. It was cool! Pat still has the pipes. It was funny her showing McBride how to belt out a song, and McBride being so reverent to Benatar in the show.

I always thought Giraldo’s solo on “Promises” was a great showcase of his ability. Good stuff!

I forget, until I saw it again, that Dweezil Zapppa did the guitar work in that POS "Heartbreak", and Moon Unit Zappa is also briefly in the video.

I wonder how much of those $8 billion in securities, etc Johnson got caught with trying to drive into Germany he had to give Zappa. I like how when the German Border Custom's people caught Johnson with the massive stash, he said he was just going to German to buy a car! Some car, ROFLOL.

I have never to this day understood how Johnson got out of that, and the securities were not siezed by the German authorities. They just took pictures of everything, and after a long delay, and a number of phone calls, they finally let Johnson and the bonds go. WTF?

Here's what I think of Don Johnson, his videos, and his new German car:

Here's an article on the German deal last year.

Don Johnson's Eight Billion Dollar Problem
(Tuesday, March 11, 2004 10:00 PM)

German authorities are wondering why "Miami Vice" star Don Johnson was trying to cross the Swiss border with a suitcase crammed with $8 billion worth of share certificates, bonds and credit notes.

The border stop occurred on Nov. 6 when Johnson was traveling from Zurich to Germany. He was accompanied in his black Mercedes-Benz by three men: an investment adviser, a personal assistant and a mystery man. German police have been on heightened alert in recent years, stopping motorists in an attempt to halt money laundering via Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Luxembourg.

Sass Jordan:

Decent tune, shitty video from the 4th women that Eddie and Alex Van Halen have asked to front Van Halen. (Offerred Sass the job, before deciding on Cherone).

Toronto newspaper reported that Sass had dinner with Alex, and some other people were at the table, when the 04 Van SpamBoys played Toronto.

Could Sass be frontin VH IV?

Gosh, I have forgotten about a lot of these stinkers. Guess that's good, haaaa

Clearly "Rock Me" sucked.

Yeah, you know Rockwell is Webster's uncle, right? That's how it happened. MJ wanted to meet Webby so bad that Rockwell's manager happened to be his brother (Emmanuel Lewis's father), and said if you want to have my young son Emmanual play with you then you have to contribute the chorus vocals to this song.

MJ reallllly didn't like the song, and begged and tried to explain that Neverland was the best place in the world and that Emmanuel would love it there, but Emmanuel's father was steadfast.

Sure enough, MJ recorded the vocals and got his playdate with Webster. It was on that night, Emmanuel Lewis rode a giraffe for the first time, had his first taste of Jesus Juice, and had his oyung virgin buttocks sodomized like there was no tomorrow.

Just kidding. I made all that up.

Ok, here’s the hands down winner, imo, for the worst album and music video ever made, and will ever be made, in this history of the planet.

Pat Boone
….(Big time Gospel singer and religious flake)

Album: In a Metal Mood: No More Mr. Nice Guy – 1997

Review: The Lord calls down to Pat and tell's him to make the biggest ass of himself possible by doing a Metal cover album. Boone delivers and releases No More Mr. Nice Guy, a collection of heavy metal covers revamped into the popular mold to fit the Pat Boone style.

To promote the album, he appeared at the American Music Awards in black leather, shocking audiences and losing his respectability among his largest constituency, conservative Christians; he was fired from Gospel America, a TV show on the Trinity Broadcasting Network.

Question, how did Boone get copyright releases from the artists to totally butcher their material including Van Halen?

Baaaawaaaa!!!,

and I said we gave Priest a free pass because the whole band isn't gay just Rob, ......

like Freddie Mercury was flaming gay but the rest of Queen wasn't.

If we post your vid pic, then I get to post all the Culture Club, Boy George and Flock of Seagull videos.

Of, course Flock of Seagulls was Sammy's and EVH's favorite band in the 80's. You can tell by this pic, I mean how fucking gay can you get here?

You can clearly see VH was trying to take over Flock's fan base after the band broke up because this was the timeframe Van Hagar really cranked in with the gay look. Of course, it's common knowledge that Hagar has always been bi-sexual.

Holy, shit-I saw that about 3 years ago on VH1. That is one funny piece of shit!!

What is it the presenter says before he comes on, something about him being a "hot young star". He comes on and he is about 35-40. His dancing kicks ass as well.

And the presenters face at the end is a picture if I remember well enough.

I actually saw some of Bobby Conn's albums in HMV. I'll have to get one.

Well speaking of the Celtic way, here ya go

How about Ritchie Blackmore of Deep Purple fame. One of the greatest guitarists in the world, now doing Celtic music and living the Celtic lifestyle 24/7.

Cross-Post - from my Classic Deep Purple Videos thread in the Bootleg Corner forum:

=============

Of course we are talking the Ritchie Blackmore of old before he went crazy over the hot blond in these videos (Candice) and got into all that Celtic and Renaissance music/lifestyle, and starting his new band with Candice, "Blackmore Nights".......Shiteeee

I hope that is really good p-tang he is getting. Man-o-man.

Here we go, Blackmore Nights - Live

* Here * (http://www.muz.ee/multimedia/video/live/BlackmoureNight.mpg)

Tell ya, somewhere along the way Candice did way too much bad acid and fried her tiny brain. Guess she must be good yum.

WhiteSnake

Video Requirements:
Windows Media Player - wmv files / Res: 450Kbps

Personally, I never liked Whitesnake except for that fucked in the head Tawny Kitaen being in the videos. I mean it's like Sammy Hagar wrote their songs, like he wrote those shitty love songs for VH - II. Lets see with Whitesnake we had, just for starters,:

Fool For Your Loving
Give Me All Your Loving
Is This Love
Love Ain't No Stranger
Here I Go Again

........shiteee, what a bunch of candy asses. There’s nothing worse than a rock band singing love songs. Bands like this gave a bad name to the 80's.

Steve Vai joined Whitesnake after DLR's EEAS band disbanded. However, he was of no help on this totally limp dick Whitesnake video:

Fool For Your Loving (mms://213.132.96.108/Archive/01HF021300_450.wmv)

For our second worst ever video, Whitesnakes takes a song that did well in the charts, and just total butcher it in the video, turning it into some half-baked pussy slow song.

Here I Go Again (mms://213.132.96.108/Archive/01HF022230_450.wmv)

Weoooo, painful to watch.

Last candy ass video, cannot take anymore. The problem with Whitesnake they didn’t have any punch. This video reminds me of the “Final Countdown” video by the band Europe. In fact Whitesnake reminds me of the one-hit stinker band, Europe.

Give Me All Your Loving (mms://213.132.96.108/Archive/01HF022800_450.wmv)

stop...stop...the album is GREAT!!! the arrangements are killer and the band (bissonette on the drums) plays fantastic...too bad that the voice sucks...imagine that songs played this way by a man like sammy davis jr. or the chairman of the board himself...

I'd love to hear dave do an album of VH music played with a big band or an orchestra...they are made for it...

Ok, Ok, Ok, for the last time NO GAY BAND VIDEOS! baaaaaawaaaaaa

Of course, all Hagar vids are on the "Worst Of" list, but thanks for a great post to remind us of the music and visual masterpiece VOA.

PS: May have to cut Hagar a little slack to be fair here at R.A., Hagar's bi, not gay.

You remember all the bullshit when Hagar joined VH. He insisted they call it Van Hagar, (which I wanted so as to not destroy the Van Roth era legend)

Then they came out with that Dreams video, and it was nothing but the Blue Angels, no shots of the band, nothing..... and everybody was going WTF?

Then EVH said (on the Dreams video) well we aren't a visual band like before and don't want to do that anymore, and everybody went WTF?

Of course, a call to Eddie and Jammy from Warner Brothers took care of all the infighting and bullshit, pronto.

Hell, no one thought that Van Hagar would last a year and somehow they did.

Cliff Richard "Wired for sound" (circa 1981)

A forty year old Cliff Richard tries to show the world`s youth that he is really "with it", by wearing tight trousers, sunglasses, a personal stereo and roller boots, while singing about how he loves big speakers and small speakers because when there`s music they`re "Wired for sound".

All the while leading a troupe of spandex clad dancers from a roller disco.

Baaawaaaa, our thread is going to hell, is it not

And hey, for the record, Robbin was not remotely gay or was that how he got AIDS.

It was from too much drugging and unprotected sex with groupies.

I had a LOT of respect for the guy and how he handled himself in his late AIDS days. Real standup on the deal, even though he knew it was over.

Hey AP, come on, you understand what I was saying about Robbin do you not? He never blamed anyone but himself for getting too careless was the point chief. All the guy ever wanted to be was a successful musician, and ended up being with ones of the best rock bands of the 80's.

Absolutely the worst video ever made was "Once" by Van Danniels.

Yeah, and I know Cherone's gay, but homosexuality has nothing to do with why this video completely SUCKED.

MTV actually turned it down. That's how horrible it was. Maybe the fact that it was shot on a single camcorder by Yoko Bertinelli's brother had something to do with it.

And the fact that the song sounded like a bad Genesis ripoff didn't help either.

And no I don't have a link. Thank God!

VH-III “Once” Video (http://www.vhnd.com/once/once112.rm)

Requirements: RealPlayer / rm format / 4:14 minutes

That almost sounds like Ozzy in on the backing vocals. Jack and Wolfgang are best friends, you think Oz helped EVH a little, or is that voice just Cherone?

Once Video Released!

January 5, 1999 - Van Halen's video for Once has been released! As we reported on December 28, two videos were made - one for the album version, the other for the remixed version that was originally planned for release as a single last year.

The videos are only available on the Internet, and the Van Halen News Desk is one of the first web sites to make it available. Click on this link to go to our Once page. You can download many different versions of the video from there.

Once Page info:

January 5, 1999 - The wait is over! We are happy to announce that the full-length versions of both videos for Once are now available from the Van Halen News Desk! Back in July we reported that the next single from Van Halen III would be a remixed version of Once. Unfortunately, the executives at Warner Bros. decided against the idea and plans for the single were shelved.

What we didn't know at the time was that David Bertinelli, brother of Edward's wife Valerie, was hard at work producing a video for the single. David, a professional photographer who has worked with the band since 1980, shot the at the Palace of Auburn Hills in Detroit on May 19, 1998.

Two versions of the video were produced. The edited single version runs 4:14, the full-length album version clocks in at 7:45. Both versions are now available for download from this site! The videos are an Internet Exclusive! Consider them a gift from the band to you, the fans who have supported them throughout this past year.

They probably thought the 04 Van SpamBoys Tour was a gift from the band also, shiteeee!

They just go wandering off to the stranges places unannounced, I don't know why. I mean, I scold it, tell it to behave itself before we go out in public, etc. and then once again my mini cam ignores me and off it goes. :-)

It is as embarrassing as Badguy says, it's really fucking awful. (Sir) Cliff Richard has to be the most cheesey guy in Britissh history. He actually reminds me of american popstars in the 80s.

I forget who it's by, and the correct spelling, but 'Shaddupayaface' is fucking shite from all perspectives. I can't believe it kept such a well-crafted song like 'Vienna' off the UK number one spot. Also, Metallica's 'One' really pisses me off, who cares about the guy with the mask pleading for his life-we want to hear the song, not some actor's voice.

5. Ozzy - Bark At The Moon (really bad transformatipns from a chubby long haired freak into a ... chubby long haired freak)

7. AC\DC - Jailbreak (Was this shot with a hand held Super 8mm)

9. Autograph - Turn Up The Radio (Did someone say HAIRband? I always hated poodles this vid made be buy that sniper rifle in case they showed up in my neighborhood)
10. Dokken - Dream Warriors (Any movie themed video would fit here aka..Alice Cooper's Jason vid...Bon Jovi's Blaze of Glory...you get the point)

There are some other groups that belong as a group cause any video was bad {some mentioned earlier}
11. Great White Who was the visionary for these vids Discovery Channel Shark Week editor
12. Ratt Well you cannot say they were like every other video out at the time...Ok you can say that

Bands destroyed by MTV:

Loverboy. Unfortunately, they didn't sound NEARLY as cool as they looked. (But I saw them in 2011 and they still sound great if you are into them)

REO Speedwagon. The world got one look at these guys and promptly ran away.

And sadly Billy Squier, who's music I really like but that video couldn't be more gay if it depicted Little Richard sodomizing Richard Simmons on the hood of a Toyota Prius at the end of the rainbow while singing "Y.M.C.A".

You got me runnin' baby
You give me somethin' way beyond revenue
You put the magic in me :anal:
I feel the magic when we do what we do
And oh...
I can't do without you for too long...you're my situation
You're my kinda lover...

You keep me all together
You take me out whenever I'm lettin' down
You got the motions baby
I got a notion maybe I'll stick around
And oh...
I can never doubt you for too long...I can't see no reason
You're my kinda lover...

When you come 'round I never get down---I fly across the floor
I can see you comin' on me...and I can't ask for more :splooge:
Rock me, sock me, baby you got me ridin' to the end
Rake me, shake me, baby you make me--turn me on again

You got my motor racin'
I find my thoughts embracin' your every move
I wanna set you reelin'
I wanna make you feel the way that I do
And oh...
I been thinkin' 'bout you for so long
I don't wanna lose ya--you're my kinda lover...

This was great

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_Me_Tonite

The video for the track was directed and choreographed by Kenny Ortega, who later directed the High School Musical films. It shows Squier waking up in a bed with satiny, pastel-colored sheets, then dancing and kicking up his heels around the bed as he gets dressed, ultimately putting on a pink tank top. At the conclusion he leaves the room and joins his band in performing the song.
It frequently appears on "worst music video ever" lists.[4] For I Want My MTV, their 2011 oral history of the network's early years, authors Rob Tannenbaum and Craig Marks interviewed over 400 people, primarily artists, managers, filmmakers, record company executives and MTV employees. They said that none could agree on the best video, but all agreed that "Rock Me Tonite" was the worst. They devoted an entire chapter of the book to it.[5]
Squier himself, and many other observers, believe its blatant homoeroticism alienated a significant portion of his fan base and ruined his career. "I liked [him] very much," says Rudolf Schenker of The Scorpions, "but then I saw him doing this video in a very terrible way. I couldn't take the music serious anymore."[2]

At that point, Ortega, a friend of Squier's girlfriend, called up Squier's managers and offered to direct the video. He had done choreography in some of Mallet's videos, and directed the clip for The Pointer Sisters' "I'm So Excited." Neither manager was particularly enthusiastic about him, and pressured Squier to get rid of him. Capitol was disturbed that Squier had talked directly to Ortega, in contravention of their preferred practice, but deferred to him. "By going around the label, he had thrown down the gauntlet," Kleber says.[2]
Ortega suggested to him that he do some of the same moves he did during his show, without his guitar. Squier's idea was that the resulting footage should be grainy and in darker, subdued colors, evoking the 1980 film American Gigolo. He rejected a suggestion by Ortega that it look instead like Tom Cruise's air guitar scene near the beginning of the 1982 film Risky Business.[2]
The shoot was held in Los Angeles within two weeks of the world premiere date. Squier showed up on the soundstage and saw the decorated set. It was not what he had envisioned, and he expressed his misgivings. Ortega reassured him that the finished version would look as he had wanted it to. "I didn't like the sheets but I trusted the guy." Tom Mohler, one of Squier's managers, asked Ortega to make sure there was footage of the band performing the entire song to use as coverage; he says Ortega promised to do so but did not.[2]
Other artists and managers have wondered why Squier and his management did not stop the video. "I don't care if the director was lying dead on the floor," says Pete Angelus, manager of Van Halen, "you shouldn't have put on a fucking pink T-shirt and danced around like that." Stiefel says friends who see the clip for the first time on YouTube are still incredulous that it ever aired. "Did Billy not notice the pastel satin sheets?" Stiefel asks. "I don't know that Barry Manilow ever did such a gay video ... This is the great Kenny Ortega. How could he have allowed such a thing?" [2]
At Capitol and MTV, there were similar questions. A joke had it that the video should have been called "Cock Me Tonite". The label continued to defer to Squier, giving him the benefit of the doubt and assuming he might have intended the video as a joke. Mohler pleaded with Capitol president Jim Mazza to just cancel the video, but the label stood firm. "I wish I had had the balls to say to [them]: 'We're not putting it out'," Mohler laments.[2]
Squier was aghast when he saw the video. Capitol told him not to worry since the single was so successful, but his girlfriend told him it would ruin him. He was touring at the time, and recalls that as soon as the video came out, he stopped selling out shows, in some cases playing to half-empty arenas. "I couldn't figure out why Capitol didn't pull that video and make another one," said Warren DeMartini of Ratt, who were opening for Squier at the time. Squier learned later that he could have done so himself, as Bruce Springsteen had been able to do with a video he disliked. "Everything I'd worked for my whole life was crumbling, and I couldn't stop it."[2]
As a result, he fired both his managers within a month. While they understood why, it was painful for Mohler in particular, since Squier had been best man at his wedding earlier in the year. He hired Stiefel to replace them, finished his tour and then took two years to release his next album, Enough Is Enough.[2] He has never matched his early chart success since then.
In 2011, Squier talked about the experience as "an MBA course in how a video can go totally wrong."
The video misrepresents who I am as an artist. I was a good-looking, sexy guy. That certainly didn't hurt in selling records. But in this video I'm sort of pretty boy. And I'm preening around a room. People said "He's gay." Or "He's on drugs." It was traumatizing to me. I mean, I had nothing against gays. I have a lot of gay friends. But like it or not, it was more of a sticky point then.
While he is still angry at Ortega, who he believes purposely misled and exploited him, he is philosophical about the video. "The scars aren't that deep ... It's a bad part of a good life."[2]

Pretty much ANYTHING related to Journey sucked after that pussy Jonathan Cain joined the band. Songs....videos....whatever. Their music used to be published under the name "Weed High Nightmare Music", but their later shit looked more like "Bad Brown Acid From Woodstock Nightmare Music".

And since Schon actually played Woodstock as a member of Santana, he probably had a sheet or two of that shit in an old suitcase in a closet somewhere, and just happened to stumble across it, right when he was in the middle of doing the 834th overdub to "Faithfully" or whatever.

I hate to bring this back from the dead, but I just went on youtube and looked up Rock Me Tonight - By Billy Squier.

I think this one wins, because it ruined his career. There isn't a video that damaged a career like this one. After this, his career was night and day...
