View Full Version : Who says "out of luck" in D.O.A.?
After Dave sings "the jury look at me say" some one says "out of luck" at 1:33. It doesn't sound like Dave to me, is it Ed? That was my hunch.

I'm pretty damn certian it's Dave. Playing with his voice and doing impersonations was always one of Dave's favorite things. All he's doing is turning his voice into a low-pitched growl.
It's not like he's suddenly doing the bridge from Bohemian Rhapsody.

Always thought and assumed it was Dave.
I'm not saying that it isn't Dave, but whenever I listen really closely, I get some sort of Ed sonic quality

You're thinking of Ed's voice circa "How Many Blowjobs Gave I".
His voice was much higher twenty years earlier...
btw, sorry for using the word "quality" in the same sentence as a reference to Ed's voice. I just caught that now.
bah, I agree with you guys now. You can really tell it's Dave by how his voice comes off of the hard "k" sound at the end of "luck". Thanks for all the input though! Cheers

Never questioned it...know for a fact it's Dave.
It is definitely Dave. You can hear that it's probably even on the same vocal track, but the engineer just turned the reverb on when he says the word.

Funnily, it was your mom.
True story: she had just given me "oral pleasure" three times in a row. When I asked for a fourth, she said she was tired and rolled over and muttered those very words.
Who knew Ted Templeman had a microphone under the bed??
