The Las Vegas Sun is reporting that X co-producer Angela Sampras and partner Bobby Boling are not looking to incorporate former VAN HALEN frontman DAVID LEE ROTH into their existing show, as was reported last week. Says Sampras, "We are creating a whole new show for David." When asked about Roth's poorly received 1995 Bally's headline gig, Sampras stated, "That was not the right time for David to appear on the Strip. Now, with our creative genius and his talent for comedy, I think we can have yet another hit show." The new show came about after Roth and Harrah's executive Don Marrandino took in the Lake Tahoe production of the adult revue X at Harvey's Hotel and Casino. Afterward the pair chatted with X co-producer Bobby Boling. Long story short, Roth asked Boling and co-producer Angela Sampras to put together a show that would feature Roth as an emcee. Boling and Sampras - who are still looking for a new Vegas venue for X, which was canceled at the Aladdin to make way for Steve Wyrick's new magic show - are now furiously tweaking their show to include Roth, which they feel is a sure way to secure a Strip venue. Well, maybe not. Longtime Vegas residents recall that in addition to various concert appearances, Roth had a six-day engagement at Bally's in October 1995. "The good news is that around 700 people showed up to see his Strip debut. The bad news is that Bally's Celebrity Showroom seats 1,400," the Sun reported at the time. The 1995 article went on to say that Roth "has become the consummate Vegas entertainer: talented and amusing but sadly irrelevant."

Is there any bootleg video of DDLR in Vegas? Always wondered what Diamond Dave and Sin City would cook up. Unfortunately I picture him doing Sinatra covers with his ass hanging out and 80 sets of sweet swinging titties onstage :D

Dave just needs to get back to writing and performing real rock -n- roll. It's what he does first, last, and best. Fuck that Donnie Osmond Vegas shit.

Lost my cherry to Eruption ... she lost hers to a 5th of Kentuky Rifle Burbon (Don't ask, I'm a Air Force brat from Germany :) )

Fair Warning being the definitive album of my ass kicking jar head stompin whiskey shooting tequila snortin rubber biscuit days seems to have not been lost here among fellow sinister bishops of the prince of mayhem.

Can I get an Amen... I can drop a wad and a load in vegas ... Diamond Daves worthy of a 2500 mile road trip if thats what it takes :D

By the way, anyone notice the fact his newest Video (Sha Ma MA MA?) is also on Steve Millers 2nd Greatest Hits album? Grrr... seems like a serious miscommunication or licensing arrangement to me ...

Actually its Shubada Du Ma Ma on the Steve Miller Bands Young Hearts (Remastered Greatest Hits) album. Daves version is alittle funkier .. but they are practically identical. Don't think Miller took the time to spit out a Video though ;)
