Hello.

I'm going out tonight (as usual).

Should i wear my bandana ( mystar spangled banner - bandana, mind you), or not?

And, should i wear my brand new Van - Van halen shoes (you know, the ones with the frankestein pattern)? I live in sweden so it Might snow, so I don't want them to get all messed up. Should I wear my italian boots instead? I am not gay or anything, I just have no where else to turn.

Cheers!

The Bandana... absolutely NOT (under no circumstances).
The 80's are gone and I don't care if you'r only 22 and never got to wear a bandana... they are out!
Frankenstein shoes... I've never seen that, it might be cool, do you have a picture of that?

Ally_Kat

if it's going to snow, don't wear the shoes!

I wear bandanas with my hair down sometimes when I go out. Makes me look all country n 'stuff. But I'm a chick, so I think the rules are different on that one.

What about when one goes camping and doesn't shower for a few days? I always wear a bandana (Aunt Jemima style) with my trusty hankies when camping in the desert. They don't blow off as easy as a baseball cap. lol.

The shoe's are called Vans aren't they?
That's what my box said BACK IN THE 80'S.

Dude, get some penny laofers, a sweater vest, trousers and some black rim glasses; your name is Waldo tonight.

RETRO-FASHION!

Dude, the 80s are in now. Seriously. There are girls dressing like Madonna and Boy George again.

I know, I know, it's the same style. :p

Yea Yea... a bandana CAN be all right, if it has a purpose (like holding stinky hair) but not if it makes you look like Axel Rose...
By the way, what happened to that ass whole?

Hey, 21 years old Ally_Cat...
The 80's have been back for a while but TRUST ME... not full on!
You would never wear huge shoulder pads, high waisted pleated jeans, hair teased like a sun etc...
The 80's will NEVER be back... look at Dave!

Ya know what, I totally believe you, and here's why.

I went to inspect a house today, it was in a hick part of town we call Hamiltucky, part city, part Kentucky.
Anyway, I'm walking around this house and hear some young girl down the street singing along with Joan Jett's 'I Love Rock and Roll', lol.
She was out on the porch just ripping it apart, and she actually sounded great.

So yeah, i totally buy what you're saying.

They haven't been back for that long. The 70s fashions were huge when I was in high school and up to last year of college. Now they are overlapping with the 80s.

And, actually, the teased hair IS back.

Also starting to show up is 50s fashion and home decor. I love 50s stuff.

And why are you dissing Dave at a Dave site?

blonddgirl777
03-17-2005, 11:15 PM
I am NOT dissing Dave...
I just want to explain that things (and people) will never be back exactly the way they where before...
EX.: Dave is not the way he was before, no one will ever be...
Got it?
I also love 50's stuff!

Listen honey,

If you seriously think that threads are going to stay "on topic" around here then you're in for a big surprise. :) In fact, some of the most classic threads start out talking about something completely different. I'm old too and have seen Classic VH live. What does that have to do with Ally's age or her love for Dave? She's a true Roth and Roller to the core. Also, I wasn't trying to start any shit btw. :)

But seriously, the first song I heard was Jump. My parents used to have to play it just to get me to sleep. So just because I haven't seen Van Halen live with Dave doesn't mean I'm less of a fan.

Some leggings have an elastic thing that passes under the foot (over the shoes) to hold them down...
The ugliest people wear that (in Verdun).
And no... some people never look at themselves and leave it to us to be embarassed and want to shoot them!

Yeah, and that just sucks. gettin it ain't the problem, it's the keeping them from getting attached that is.

I generally go for the older woman, but as i get older that isn't such an attractive option, as it used to be.

Plus, the young ladies are more interested in what i have in my wallet and figuring out how to get it into their's.

I'd laugh, but it's not funny. :(

Speaking of classic cars, my dad has a '73 El Dorado convertable with only 34,000 (original) miles on it. He bought it at an estate sale in Denver in the late '80's. It seriously was a little old ladies car that she only drove back and fro from church. Shit, when he bought the thing it was literally brand new. The car is fucking awesome.

Tube tops work well with me also.
And straight hair is cool. the Janis Joplin style.

My sister in law is totally 70's and is always trying to get me at her place to smoke pot, lol.
But i am not stupid, I know what's on her mind.

Not to mention she is like an episode of 'Friend's' where Ross dated the "messy" chick.

You are entitled to your opinion, and it is well worth it for both involved.
Why should men suffer because of the fact that they're aging?

That's a pretty seflish statement for you to make, and i would prefer not to persue a woman with that kind of mindset.

That's all...

Not true, they have aides for the female as well, but i see your point.
I have a few health issues that complicate things for me, so it doesn't bother me, and it isn't a constant issue.

I actually asked about it as an experiment with my Dr. and i found that it helped restore some blood flow that wasn't as strong anymore.

But the fact is, the shit is dangerous, so if i even choose to inform my lover that i am taking it, i'd appreciate a little respect for the risks i do take to please her.

It's all about getting the job done, and doing it well. and if the feelings are genuine neither will be preoccupied with the stigmas involved with it.

Well... you have a point. It is about "getting the job done" and one's mate should really appreciate, especially if risks are taken.

I guess I am spoiled with my everhard husband and don't realise that it is not a given for everyone.

I don't know about that stuff.
One thing i did notice about thos etypes of pills is that they are great for first time experiences.
There is a lot of nervousness that comes into play there.
And i noticed that after the initial encounters the need for it wasn't very strong.

Once i am comfortable with a person, i tend to have spuratic erections, lol.
Say like in elevators, tents, my van, etc.
But i have always been kind of kinky like that.

Just watch out for Panamark, he hates The Nuge.
I have played quit a few of his tunes in bands.
My fav song would have to be "The Great White Buffalo", lots of opportunity to rip in that one.
But then again, every Nuge song is an opportunity to rip, lol.

I think that's what I'm most scared of in life -- not having that.

People I know say I'm silly for having that as a concern, but I can live without some of the fringe things like my cousins have. I don't need to shop at Lord and Taylor, I don't need a new car each year, and I don't need to hit a class ceilingto be happy in life. I just need a best friend for life by my side thru the ride.

Whats sad about it is that if the attraction is only physical the mood swings can seem like rejection.
If the man truly loves the woman he will know no other emotion but concern and understanding.

I know guys who have flown of the handle and turned into cmplete babies when their lady simply isn't in the mood. heaven help them if she actually had an issue she couldn't help.

Mine is a life of experiences, and nobody i grew up with ever understood me at all.

But my relationships were few compared to their many meaningless encounters.

Agreed, Riverfest here in Cincinnati is something you and your guy should trek to some year.
It is in Sept. and is the biggest and final bash of the year.

Locals call it the WEBN Fireworks, and every year for 10 years, Classic Halen is incorporated into the soundtrack.

It's awesome as hell...

Sweet. Sounds like bridge day down there.

Hell, I think we can trekk it to Ohio. It's only a 15 min flight away.

Man, you know how much I hated that back in Jan? I ran to catch a 15 min flight to Cincinnati (or however it's spelt) and then waited 2 and a half hours for my 90 min flight to NYC.

I think I had a lesbian encounter.

First trip down to WV and EVERYONE and their mother was nice to me. I kept telling JG that I had to get used it because he saw that I was really quiet. I mean, hell, my own family (aunts, cousins) isn't nice to me how these people were. And it's like high school -- everyone knew who I was, where I was from, etc. It was so weird for this yankee.

Ok, people, if it's to any comfort: I did in fact not wear the bandana that night, or the shoes in question. Good choice! It did snow! They are indeed called Van's (or something), and i found this link to an ebay add: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=63850&item=5364295052&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

The shoes look bether in reality, I think:)

As for the bandana/ 80's "dispute"...I must admit I'm quite, ehm, fascinated by the 80's, as I, even though i was born in 83, never seriously got to "live" it. I remember the end of it vaguely: Sublime acts like swedish rockers "SHA - BOOM", Roxette and others (well, at least I'm honest), and the fall of the Berlin - wall. The eightees where the happy days, or so I've heard, but as soon as I developed some sort of consciousness for lack of better word, the first thing I encountered was the swedish financial crisis in 90/91, and, lets be fair, the world cup in soccer in italy in 1990. (I was there and had an special World cup Ice cream in Rome- true story, kiddin' you not). Short conclusion: I have a right to at least in a most superficial manner reconstruct the 80's in my own little hermetically concealed world. It won't be a very realistic model, I know, but it's my vain attempt to at least catch a glimps (how do ya spell that?), of a time that appears to be an era much better than the current....(with some reservations - I am not in favor communism)
:)
