To any Titans fans out there, it doesn't look like Kevin will be returning to the team as GM Floyd Reese originally planned. Talked to his agent, Harold Lewis, Sunday night. He confirmed that Carter will probably sign with the Dolphins for a $5 mil. next year. They are still working on the length of the contract.

ESPN.com's John Clayton touched on this Saturday:

Dolphins close to getting Carter
The Dolphins moved closer to securing former Titans defensive end Kevin Carter on Saturday. Negotiations between the Dolphins and his agent, Harold Lewis, broke off on a positive note.
As the two sides came close to a deal, Carter wanted to take Saturday night and sleep over the idea of joining the Dolphins. Though the Dolphins are trying to make him their highest paid free agent acquisition, Carter is willing to take less than other teams are offering to play in Miami.

He's had several calls and offers from other teams but has narrowed his focus on joining the Dolphins or re-signing with the Titans. He's considered the best defensive end available.

The Dolphins are shifting to a 3-4 defense. They signed Vonnie Holliday to a two-year contract Saturday morning and plan to give him a chance to start at one of the defensive end spots. Carter could be the other end.

Both sides hope to wrap up a deal by Sunday
