Gas is cheap compared to:

Lipton Ice Tea 16 oz $1.19 = $9.52 per gallon

Ocean Spray 16 oz $1.25 = $10.00 per gallon

Gatorade 20 oz $1.59 = $10.17 per gallon

Diet Snapple 16 oz $1.29 = $10.32 per gallon

Evian water9 oz $1.49 = $21.19 per gallon

Whiteout 7 oz $1.39 = $25.42 per gallon

Brake Fluid 12 oz $3.15 = $33.60 per gallon

Scope 1.5 oz $0.99 = $84.48 per gallon

Pepto Bismol 4 oz $3.85 = $123.20 per gallon

Vick's Nyquil 6 oz $8.35 = $178.13 per gallon

I saw a professor at Pepperdine who lives in Malibu the other day on the news. His commute is like 5 hours a day from home. he started sleeping at the university to save on gas. Its like $2.11 - $2.39 here in Syracuse....

$3.00 a gallon is nuts!!

You don't use nearly as much as that stuff as you do gas...I mean really...how many gallons of Ice Tea do you need to get to work?

Yep! And as compared to about $4.20 per gallon of gasoline in France (around 1.10 euros per litre).

Evian water (I live 35 miles from Evian, but the price is the same everywhere in Savoy and the rest of the country) is $2.13 per gallon.

We got fucked off here when we adopted euro as our currency. It has been proved that prices have risen by 20% since 2001-2002. The problem is salaries didn't increase at all.

How much is an average draught beer in most bars? That's a telling criterion. ;)

Cheers! Here it's 2.20 euros, or about $2.50. But they actually have to keep the prices of alcoholic beverages at a certain level, because many of us are keen on exaggerating. :( :)

I'm lost with ounces. But I've calculated that 12 ounces = 0.42 litre. Our draught beers are 0.25 litre in content. So, it looks a bit the same price in your bars, as our pints contain 0.50 litre, or 14 ounces, that we pay 4.50 to 5 euros (but I still think of most bars), that is $4.70 to $5.30, roughly speaking.

Jeeze,

I don't even pay any attention to the price of drinks or gas anymore. lol. They both are a necessity and I can't do anything about it. I just write the checks when the Amex and gas card bills arrive in the mail.

Here in Puerto Rico most of beers are 12 ounces and the price varies from $1.25 to $2.00. (that's why we are the #1 beer byers in US)
...and gas is about $2.30 per gallon. No train, subway or any effective mass transportation sistem, so you have to use your car to go anywhere

One other product I'm curious to know the price of, but it's not necessary stuff, sorry, is that of king size cigarettes (I could have written "fags", but there's another meaning :D ).
It's become something incredible to be a tobacco smoker in the US, so prices must be prohibitive.
$5 a pack (as today in France) looks like racket to us (less than half that price 10 years ago).
I'm "lucky", my home is only one mile from the Swiss boarder, so I can easily buy cheaper fags in Geneva ($3.80 a pack).

So, how much do you pay for a 20-pack in the US?

I know. Shit when I think about how much I spend on beer I both cringe and laugh. I always keep Bud Light in the fridge but my beers of choice are Red Stripe (Ten bucks a six pack) and Molson Ice (Eight buck a sixer) and I always have either or both in the bar fridge at all times. I dunno, it's a habit but I always have a beer or two after work.

Thanks again! Well, I thought it'd be more expensive. In Britain and Ireland, they cost more than $6 a pack.

To deal with Evian again, we buy it by packs of 6 bottles of 1.5 litre that we pay 3 euros. That's 50 eurocents a bottle, or maybe 55 US cents.

Too bad.

This year I've changed posts, so I've got to drive 1250 miles a month just to go to work. I didn't want to move from my place, though my new high school is just before the "White Mount".

They pay me back 30 eurocents per kilometer (that's about 20 US cents per mile).
So, cheer up, babe. :)

I mean every motorway (I think you say "highway" in the US) have been paid back for a long time, but we still have to throw dough at tollbooths which are owned by eager private companies. We're just lining fucking stockholders's pockets.

So, the question is: do you have to pay extra money to drive on highways in California and other states? :)

But then, in case of a 500-mile drive, how much will it cost you on the turnpike?

Your state/federal system is fair, I think. Among others, prices are adapted to the different living standards.

Where I live, wages are the same for civil servants (like teachers like me), regardless of cost gaps, safe in Paris, where they earn a bit more money, which is normal.
Here in Savoy, the cost of living is highly influenced by our close neighbors, the Swiss, whose salaries are much bigger than ours. Four miles from my home, garbagemen in Geneva earn a little more than twice as much as ours... Thus, they get more dough than our bank clerks.
They buy our land, households, so prices steadily rise up to absurd levels. Yet our government does nothing to alleviate our trouble.

That's why regions should inspire from your state system. But it wouldn't work here, because of several factors, including the small size of our regions compared to many of your states and the abuses it would inevitably favor.

Yes yes. Are you finished yet? You are lms2 and GUWAPO, sharing the same user name with an IP from GUWAPO's neck of the woods...not Montreal. You PM'd someone I won't name the other day saying: "Hey, it's really me...G" because you didn't want THAT person to be fooled by the alias. You use lms2's exact old avatar. And I've read a couple of other recent PMs lms2 wrote, though because of promises cannot post how or what they said.

If blonddegirl is in fact lms what difference does it make? She has a right to be here just as much as anyone else. No one here should feel that they have the right to take the ARMY away from someone else. If she wants to be here, she should e allowed to be here. Aliases? Alot of people have um, can't blame her for wanting to hide under a different name...

Figures you would think that. Most people don't like posters that lie about their entire identity and tell people they're someone else (especially since GUWAPO uses blonddgirl too, and he's a guy, which is part of why he had to tell someone who he actually is).

You were MS. CONDUCT, an alias. That's cool, you say. Except you were sure bugging MEZRO and pretending you were someone else, bragging about being a new user that already wants to donate. MEZRO had no idea it was actually you, and I doubt he would have rushed that donor tag had he known it was you lying about your fucking identity (for the 50th time or whatever it is). When I told him MS. CONDUCT was actually you, he sure was fucking surprised.

I thought you said you were leaving the site? You announced it twice today.

lms announced that too. Yet, she keeps coming back under aliases, just as you did. Funny how much you hated her when I was chummy with you.

Gonna post any more PMs even though you said you won't do that?:)

Much like you being a guy using Jenna right?

I never said I was a new poster, I never bragged about donating and I never denied being Ms Conduct anytime anyone asked... including you. You fully supported her character until you turned on me. As for RUSHING the donor tag, I hardly think he rushed. It took 2 months and I only asked about it a handful of times. Simple fact is, she donated she deserved the tag... You got a problem with that? Mez doesn't seem to. I never mislead anyone with her alias nor did I use her for any wrong doing. Unlike YOU who uses aliases to taunt and insult others. Stop playing high and mighty. You have the least integrity of anyone on this site and everyone knows it.

G-man~ You should know that Rikk is not concerned about FACTS. His only concern is to make other people look bad, even if he uses lies to do it. Says more about him than it does anyone else.

Blah blah blah. I fight under my own name 99.9% of the time. You PM'd me as MS. CONDUCT and told me who you were. I never asked and never gave a shit. Quit the fucking lying. You even PM'd me as her a few days ago and I (of course) didn't respond. Right?

And don't give me that shit. I believe MEZ over you.

LOL. I saw the fucking PM, dude. No lie. Either you're lying or someone else is. And I think it's funny, because if it WEREN'T you, you'd probably love me accusing someone else of being you and would want me to continue.

Stupid fool.

Anyway, I've already got the proof that it's both of you, and you also knew about SKITTLES, BRITTNI, MAXINE and the others. Why did all of lms2's aliases vote for you, BTW? And why were you online at the same time as them most of the time, as MAX has pointed out?

:p

LOL. I saw the fucking PM, idiot. Why would you so not want me to believe this one is you? I won't post who showed it to me, but you sure as shit posted that to the person because they kept talking to you, think you're a girl. And you had to say something.

So did MAX, asshole. Resides right near you, apparently. Did FAB ask P-MARK, "G"?

You've lied so many times, why should you be believed this time?

How about this...you say you're not lying. If it's proved that you have anything to do with this shit, or that you know anything about lms2's various allies (and yes, I have a few or her PMs too, idiot), will you leave the fucking site. C'mon...put your money where your gerbil-sucking mouth is.

You mean Panamark, a.k.a Ford Fairlane, Rock & Rock Detective?

I don't know ya GR, but with 103 5-Stars, member 423 days, and a R.A. donor, (big plus in my book on the donation) must be more than a few people around here that like ya,,,,,I don't know.

Give us all a fucking well deserved and much needed break.

You've been busted through and through on this one pal. You slipped by yapping to people of whom you are too stupid to realize are thick as thieves with myself. Reluctantly, I both cannot and will not reveal their identities but unbeknownst to you, they also know what poor liars you and your Wichita co-pilot are.

Back off man cos I'm an Alias Buster!!!

I also won't name any names. That's a tactic you assholes would pull.

This one is over for you, GUWAPO and lms2. We got ya...again. Keep 'em comin'. You've obviously got nothing else to do.

Hey Linda,

I'm also well aware of the other aliases you have floating around. I'm just waiting until the time is ripe to call you on them.
