Jeff’s the man! Never miss a JB gig. He was killer, when he came back out, touring the last five years, playing with Jennifer Batten, (#1 female rock guitarist in the world).

Smokin stuff, and Batten shocked the hell out of a mostly male musician audience, but never upstaged Beck’s brilliance.

Here’s a couple of pics from the last JB gig I was at.

Beck's guitar style has always been really bizzare. I personally don't know how he does some of the stuff he pulls off.

Any chance of posting any Jennifer Batten videos, TB?

They say that Jeff Beck can take a shitty guitar and make it sound beautiful, with just one note.

---------------------------------------------------
Ritchie Blackmore - "... Jeff Beck is my idol .. sometimes he finds notes that I just do not have on my guitar."

Jimmy Page -"So I recommended Jeff Beck, who I think was amazing as far as pushing the Yardbirds to the next level. His imagination on those Yardbirds albums is incredible..."

Steve Vai- "Jeff Beck is compelled by his inner artistic drive to keep evolving the instrument. He'll use the whammy bar with the volume knob and the tone control all at the same time - creating harmonics that no human being should be able to hit."

Joe Satriani - "... I always use the Jeff Beck model. Jeff Beck is just a genius, and he keeps getting better ... If there's anybody in your field you want to aspire to be like, it is a guy who does what he wants to do. Every record at least he comes out with one thing that makes everybodys' jaw drop ... I would hope that Jimi Hendrix would have done that, although, man, the odds are against him because he did so much in such a short amount of time ..."

Saw him 10th row in 1995 in Kansas City. Hung out with the band afterwards on the bus drinking (what else?) Beck's beer, but did not get to meet the Man himself....

Saw him a couple of years ago at The Ryman...he was great...

Jeff beck = reason to own highend stereo equipment ;)

The quality of musicians he uses is outstanding too. Jan Hammer, Max Middleton, Nirada Michael Walden ,etc. The chemistry , songs, and the phrasing is in a class by itself.

Yes I will start a thread in Download Corner for some great Jeff Beck and Jennifer Batten Live videos, audios, and more.

I've got 2 videos from a gig just 3 weeks ago on her Japanese 2005 Spring Tour. She and her band played 2 Jeff Beck Classics. I also have 2 videos of Beck & Batten Live together on their first 1999 Tour. Will post two awesome songs-vids from that gig, that left the crowd stunned.

Also have a great live video of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jeff Beck playing together Live, when they Toured together in 1989. The one I will post is them playing one of JB tunes together.

On Sophie where they are trading leads, how the hell does Beck get that metallic sound on his leads. That's GOT to be an effect , no?

as far as i know he uses a wah wah pedal and that's it

his mastery over the tremolo arm and unique playing style seems to give him an edge over most other players

I only people who are up there with Jeff Beck in my opinion is Allan Holdsworth and John McClaughlin. Jeff Beck even said that McClaughlin was 'the greatest of the greatest'.

Blow By Blow and Wired...

...EVH will always be a great player in my book for what he did from 78-84, but Beck still remains jaw-droppingly good.

Genius, agreed.

That official bootleg "LIVE AT BB KING'S" is an absolute monster!

Beck is the best there is and he keeps getting better! I was lucky to see him twice on the "WHO ELSE" tour and he totally blew me away both times.

Incredible musician.
