You ever get one of those fuses that blows that you cant
see the blown wire inside ? You know those little white fuckers..

OK

You know how when you touch the end of a guitar lead plugged
into an amp, you get that buzz sound ??

Yeah ??

Well heres what you do, put that suspect fuse against the tip of your
guitar lead and touch the other end of it,
you get the buzz, the fuse is good,
no buzz, the fuse is fooked..

Comes in handy if you dont have a multimeter on hand..

Useless Fact # 341

I would use either a multimeter or a 9v battery on the tip of my tongue, or a cord plugged into a speaker. If you hear a pop when the fuse ends make contact to tip and sleeve, it's good.

Use your tongue like Gar said. I heard that if you get shocked while using your hand, it'll lead right to your heart and you might die.

But if it's live and you're touching it with your tongue it safely goes to your ears or something?:)

I think someones spun you a line there, either is as dangerous.

I use the tongue test on transformers all the time which of course is very stupid too.

Cheers!

:gulp:

I was referring to a fuse that is not in a circuit at the time :)

Do not touch any fuse that is in circuit at any time !!

Especially with your tongue :D

You got me worried now, DUDES DONT GO PUSHING YOUR GUITAR
LEADS INTO FUSE SOCKETS !!!!

This was to test fuses that have been safely removed from their
socket or circuit...

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters)

Wed Apr 20, 6:00 PM ET

By Ian Simpson

Earlier today, a musician playing at the San Francisco House of Blues has died from electric shock. He was seen wearing a Old Van Halen T-shirt, and was said to have gotten shocked by licking the end of a guitar cable, when the other end was touching a fuse.

A friend of the musician, later told Reuters that the musician was a avid David Lee Roth fan, and a member of the David Lee Roth Army.

More on this story coming soon.

Gotta love the Fluke meters !

Yeah, I refuse to use another brand of multi-meter. I've dropped them from 25 feet off the ground, and it was like nothing happened to them. Not intentionally though....300+ dollars of a meter.

Mine cost $3.95 from Harbor Freight Tools.. I'd volley them for tennis all the livelong day for that amount.

Besides, all I check for mainly is resistance and continuity. You know, things like "is this speaker cord solder connect shorting out/ speaker blown" that type of thing.

Some of those Fluke fuckers even have transistor and Capacitor testers..I think I saw one that made you coffee in the morning !

Great gear..

If I just wanted a continuity tester though, I wouldnt buy a fluke just for that..
