Well...it will be all NHL this year...

Canada and Russia struggle but win tonight...

and the US...with a bunch of non-stars..but good players...go up against Slovenia tomorrow...

I'm curious to see what this team will do without a major star playing for them...

That being said....they have a bunch of scrappy NHL players...so we shall see...maybe we'll see a team effort this year...

Well...Modano is the captain...but he's past star status at this stage of his career...

Stinks not having the NHL around this past year--actually had to resort to getting season tickets for the lacrosse team

Laviolette is the head guy...again...

head coach of the Canes here in town...

and Tortorella is the associate...from the stanley cup winning Lightning...good staff...

I see Doug Weight is on the team as well...a couple of name guys...and a bunch of good players that have either been around the block...or are newbies...all are either NHL players...or affiliated...

so it should be an interesting team...

they split with Canada earlier in the year...actually...a coupla weeks ago...

The US team has been lucky to win much of anything given the competition on the world stage. They have fielded some decent teams and have some pretty good players but the reality is they are are second rate team. On most of their teams they have the typical selfish mouthpiece (Roenich, Tkachuk, Chelios to name but a few) and the "team" concept is lost on them.

Here is to them continuing to suck

The Stanley Cup has absolutely NOTHING to do with the quality of players coming from Canada. So dont even start that you ignorant fool. Canada supplies most players to the league, even your precious US teams.....It is all about economics. Nice try homo

Take a look at the rosters cum drip.

The Stanley Cup has absolutely everything to do with it asshole ...

Canada? Stanley Cup?

DUH?

Are you even Canadian there fruity?

Thorman
05-15-2005, 12:52 PM
Dude you are such a loser it isnt even funny....The fact that there are more then double the teams from the US, the economic factor, the ability to pay larger salaries all contribute to US teams being more competive. Let us not forget, those US teams are made up of mostly Canadians so if there was parity in the league (i.e an even playing field) you would see a number of different teams (US and Canadian) winning the cup.

Know your facts before you try and talk hockey douchebag

So no Swedes, no Russians, or any other foreign countries but Canadians ... you're a tool. Made up mostly of?

Any numbers of that?

And you said Stanley didn't mean anything, not me.

You know less about hockey than VH.

ALinChainz

Besides, a salary cap is coming, there is your level playing field.

And we are already seeing a number of different teams winning the cup, none of them have been Canadian in the last what, 11 years?

Dont make me rehash it for you dude....you obviously dont get the economic factors which are crippling the game. Yes there are Swedes, Russians, etc playing in the league what is your point about that. At the end of the day, a salary cap will not level the playing field when a team like Detroit will continue to pay the luxury tax or whatever you want to call it for their high priced players.

It is irrelevant who wins the Cup, whether it be a Canadian or US team.

You really are an idiot. go back to baseball and your pretzels and leave hockey for the real men

Winning the Cup doesn't matter.

Becasue we don't have the money, it doesn't matter. We've only been playing for it forever and is a major part of the league's history and lore.

Detroit wasn't always the Yankees of the NHL.

Ask those Canadian players coming out if the Cup doesn't mean something.

Montreal wouldn't think it was important, they are the real Yankees in terms of championships.

To YOU ... it doesn't matter. BTW, you said real men, and yet you are a Sammy fan.

Sorry dude ... you lose.

Matt White
05-19-2005, 12:02 AM
Maybe 50% of the guys in the league are Canadian. Maybe.

The days of 80% Canadian players is LONG GONE.

Besides, doesn't matter if the teams where 100% Canadian players. ALL THE TEAMS are gonna be in the USA eventually!!!:D

He Shoots! He SCORES!!!!!!!!!
