The Rolling Stones are expected to spend the summer rehearsing

in Toronto before launching their 2005 world tour at Fenway Park

in Boston on August 21st.

It has also been reported that "Jagger and Richards have written

songs together in the tight partnership manner they employed

to great success in the late 60's."

Look for the new album this summer.

They played Gnashville on the 40 Licks Tour a couple of years back....I did not go (seen them 2wice) but I got a bootleg of the show...

They still sound the same as they ever did....one of these days they will have to wheel their cadavers out onto the stage, start a Rolling Stones tape, and have some roadies move their dead bodies around a bit so everyone can pretend they are still alive.....though I bet Keef outlives all of them....

They did a gig in NYC (played on the street!) yesterday. I saw them for 15 seconds on the TV news at noon (Paris time).

They look fit and sound great.

But the speaker said they announced their starting tour as their farewell... Though it's an old, old trick in music history, this time I'm afraid it could be their last, because of Charlie's throat cancer, and maybe the fact they've been on top for 40 years... What more can they ever fulfil, by now? A tour in China? And then?

Anyway, I'd rather see them play together as long as possible. And I can't wait for the day they release their next album. :)

That's not what happenned. A reporter asked if this would be the last tour. This was the response:

CHARLIE: Yes.
KEITH: Well, maybe it's our last tour with Charlie....
MICK: No we would never say that, because then we would be accused of using it as a gimmick, you know... "Oh it's their last tour we have to see them"

(that was a paraphrase more than the actual transcript, but that's pretty much how it went down)

Cheers! You know French journalists are no good at English... Thank you for rectifying. (I missed your post 3 days ago)

But would they really dare carrying on without Charlie?

They can still perform without a doubt. I saw them here in Toronto for the "sars-stock" concert. BTW, AC/DC stole the show that night! Everyone agreed to that. A concert like that is almost once in a lifetime.

P.S. -- Faster Pussycat--the provocative pictures of the guy you have on your posts are likely to arouse Thorman--be careful

I think this will be the final U. S. tour & final album from the Stones because they're not getting any younger with Mick & Keith doing occassional live appearances afterward & releasing a few more solo albums.

I was highly dissapointed in the Licks tour. Even the club shows were too "over-produced". I won't be spending a nickel on them this go around. I will, however, buy the album and download a few shows.

The club shows were the shit for long time Stones fans. I'd have given anything to have been at one. Much better than the standard "gotta play the hits again" stadium shows. But I'll still be there for the one or two nuggets they will pull out.
