Pink Floyd reunion rumours persist

___ Joe Mott has reported in the UK daily newspaper 'The Star that Pink Floyd including Roger Waters! have been approached to perform on July 2nd @ London's Hyde Park. It is worth noting that 'The Star is not renowned for its depth when publishing a story, but we mention it here as it was reported today. The article titled 'Live Aid 2 is in the Pink reports that:

Pink Floyd are in top secret talks to perform for Live Aid 2. David Gilmour, Roger Waters, Rick Wright and Nick Mason have been asked to appear at the Hyde Park event Live 8 on July 2. If organisers pull it off, it'll put all other perfromers in the shade - including U2, Oasis, Paul McCartney and the Rolling Stones. I'm told: "They've all been approached and we're hoping they can put their differences behind them and join the concert." The band have previously been offered millions to reform after falling out, but refused. Live 8 is aimed at raising money for children in Africa. Imagine the viewing figures if the Floyd did play.

Nick Mason has said recently a live aid type concert may see the band reunite!

STELLAR as always Lucky!!!

When I read in RS a few years back that Waters & Nick Mason were talking again, I began telling people that this one will happen. One last GIGANTIC tour. Everybody goes home filthy rich.

HEY! Now if we could just convince EVH & AVH that this would be a GOOD thing.................

I read that as well. And I have also been hearing the rumour from industry sources that PF is talking about giving it one last hurrah, and then calling it a day....

Fuck, I hope so. That would be fucking great!!!

Fuck, I'm excited now. I hope they will be allowed their own light show. In fact, I hope they play ALL DAY. Fuck Mcartney, fuck The Stones, fuck U2, and fuck Oasis. I WANT THE FLOYD.

YES!

Who knows maybe it'll inspire a Dutch guitarist to reform his once great band.

Or at the least grab his old lead singer and give the fans what they want and need!

One show for a good cause would be great.

A US tour would be even better. Never got to see Floyd live.

i don't really consider Pink Floyd as much of a rock n' roll band because they transcend beyond that. They were one of a kind

I respect your opinion, but Pink Floyd belongs in a genre of progressive rock, which falls under the umbrella of R&R. So, Yes…they are Rock and Roll Group. But I agree the fact that they are simply awesome beyond measure.

Live aid 2?

How long would they get?

Twenty minutes?

I want them to restage "The wall" in it`s entireity.

Mr Badguy

Besides, they would need Floyd.

How many megastar rock bands are there now that could measure up to the bill of Woodstock or Live Aid?

U2?

Oasis?

Def Leppard?

Phil Collins?

Queen (without Freddie Mercury)

I don`t think so.

It`s still the same guys that were on the bill 20 years ago only now they`re all ancient or dead.

Live Aid 2 looks like a dead duck before it even starts.

Roger Waters quote-

"I wouldn't really say we are a rock 'n' roll band, not in the true sense at least."

Quote from David Gilmour-

"There is a big difference between what rock 'n' roll bands were doing at the time and what we were doing."

Another quote from David Gilmour-

"We were never about what rock 'n' roll bands were about."

I think that just about covers it, eh?:D

K..:D :p :p Not really. You gave Roger water way too much credit. He is a just musician not music historian. Music industry is filled with self-promoters and pompous egos…

Its a quote from a member of the band in question. I didn't give him too much credit, it's how he viewed himself.
