How about this one? You guys know this?

We know they're right when they say we're not ready
But all we care is how we feel right now
We'll go ahead just the same
Prepare to take the blame
We'll run away and get married anyhow

Can you guys catch this one? This is one of my all-time favorite songs ever.

Making it softly
Like the evening sea, trying to be
Making it go
Creating it gently
Like a morning breeze, a life of ease
Eyes that see
Beyond tomorrow, through to the time without hours
Passing the Eden of Flowers
Reason to live.

You are correct sir!:)

Another zippy number off that same album...

What do the planets mean? And have you ever seen
Sunrise in the morn? It shined when you were born.
Saturn has rings all around it
I searched the sky and I found it

Fabulous backing vocals in that song. It sounds fantastic on the Hawthorne set, remixed in stereo.

One of the VERY BEST CDs I ever bought in my life was Greatest Hits 3 - The Brother Years. The Beach Boys were just a fucking AMAZING band in the 70s - mostly...it's a fucking shame Mike Love went and ruined it all.

Although I'll give him, like, a nickel's worth of credit, because they've started playing part of "California Saga" live recently.

Most people stop playing the Beach Boys after Pet Sounds, but some of the albums after; Wild Honey, Sunflower, Surf's Up; have some of the best stuff they ever did.

I know! That whole album should be re-released in STEREO...the Hawthorne set is a classic.

Here's another one with a better version on the Hawthorne set, and another of my top five favorite Beach Boys songs...

I looked at you baby
And what did I see
I saw love in your eyes
Made me feel so warm inside

BTW, nice choice of an adjective there.:D

Time To Get Alone...that sound showed that Brian could still produce just as well after his SMiLE breakdown. Both versions are fantastic.

My peak period for the BEACH BOYS is actually late 60s and early 70s. That's my favorite stuff...basically from PET SOUNDS to HOLLAND, with LOVE YOU thrown in and some of 15 BIG ONES.

Wow. That's pretty daring for just a nostalgia show. The man should be ashamed though. Two Wilsons dead and a third not joining him and AL JARDINE fired. He shouldn't be touring at all. If I ever want to watch the BEACH BOYS live, I put in my Knebworth DVD.

There's little things about some of those tunes, middle eights, background vocals, guitar solos...for instance, I love the guitar on Don't Worry Baby, and it's pretty damn simple, but Carl sounds great on that track.

Another great solo he did was on 'She Knows Me Too Well'.

The guy has done research on the Today! album, including who's playing what on every track. It's fantastic research.
