New recruit so bear with me as I ask some basic questions...............

1) Do any non-album tunes from the "1984" recording sessions exist?

If yes, what were they?

If no, does this mean that "Me Wise Magic" & "Can't Get This Stuff No More" are the only proper Van Halen tunes since the "1984" album?

2) Which DLR solo tunes feature layers and layers of keyboards?

They do exist, but they haven't made their way onto bootleg, yet. I'm sure they're tucked away for safe keeping in Ed's vault at 5150. Here's a list from the summer of '83 that has some of the tunes they were working on at the time. Some of those tunes were probably renamed and are the songs that ended up on the "1984" album that we all know and love.

Holy fuck dude, is that an original? How much did you pay for it?
And as far as I knew "Fresh" was a B-Side that they were working on at the same time as Diver Down and 1984? But Im learning new shit about Classic Van Halen and DLR it seems like, every few days. Damn. There was a time that I thought (like years and years ago), that I was the biggest Dave/Van Halen fan out there! But there are quite a few just lounging around here, and that is so cool!

Thanks Tex!

Let's hope we get to hear them someday.

I read that Dave wanted "I'll Wait" kept off the album but Ed pushed for it.

I'm guessing "Ripley" was a working title for Top Jimmy. Ed used a Steve Ripley guitar to play the harmonics in the intro and middle part.
