There's only a few thousand Beatles related Biographies out there.

Have someone show you a bus schedule and a map to your local library.

Think Yoko was just a frustrated artist who initially glommed onto Lennon in oder to have some of his fame rub off onto her. Guess it takes a little more than just association for some to get famous, 'cuz people didn't really line up in droves to buy her shit after she hooked up with him.

Did anyone ever read how Yoko got Lennons attention ??
I read that she had some of her "art" on display and that
John was kinda interested in it. She then apparently put
a tampon in a white china cup, and painted it with red
paint inside the cup and sent it to him as a gift.

The rest, they say, is history.

Now is it just me, or is that fucked up ????

What? No girl ever sent you a soiled tampon as a gift...? Get with it man!

Haha nah....that's fucked up as hell. Freakin' artists!

Bet Lennon would have thought she was a fucking genius after that.

Drugs are what broke up the Beatles, it's that simple.

It wasn't until their minds were "Expanded" that they began to drift apart.
Ironically, it wasn't until that expansion that they even appealed to me at all.

I wanna hold your hand?
Give me a mother fuckin break, I want her hand holdin my cock, dammit.

LM is right.

One of the biggest problems that the Beatles ever faced was when Paul wanted to go with a member of Linda Eastman's family as their manager/acountant after Brian Epstein died, and John insisted on using Allen Klein. John won. Ultimately, the Beatles lost.

Allen Klein will destroy ANYTHING that gets in his path. Including Let It Be.

But it was time anyway. John was deifintely going off in his own direction and wanted to explore songs that were either too zany or too direct and/or emotional for what the Beatles were about.

Didn't she kill John Lennon or was that backward message in Kiss, Kiss, Kiss a lie.

Either way Yoko sucks.

Like I said before, LM, it's never THAT simple....

meaning, it's never ONE thing that breaks up any band.

Drugs can have an influence on behavior between band members. It's been well documented throughout rock history.

The things you mentioned also were part of the problem.

which is why I listed 3 THINGS [ I guess I have the same problem you do ]

And I have at least 10 Biographies, 3 or 4 Autobiographies, and 6 documentaries on them. I've studied their history from many angles.

There IS NO mystery as to why they broke up

BUT DRUGS HAD NOTHING WHATSOEVER TO DO WITH IT. [for once]

If you have evidence to the contrary, by all means post it:cool:

'There is much controversy to why the group broke up. Many people believed different things, the problems varied; the problems ranged from drugs to personal differences among one another. The group gave many interviews and had many discussions to why they had broken up, but still there are debates.'

That's just from one googled article. Further excerpt...

'While spending more and more time with Dylan the Beatles began to experiment in drug use along with him. However, Dylan and the Beatles are totally different personalities. Dylan being able to use drugs and still accomplishes his goals and in contrast the Beatles were not able to mix work with pleasure in that respect (VH-1, Behind the Music). Lennon had become too entangled into the drug scene. Lennon was having a very tough time in his life. He became bored with all the things that he used to love, touring and recording. He soon found something to replace the feeling of emptiness; experimenting with drugs. He was no longer part of the Beatles world; he was in his own. The drug use started fights among the members and soon it was impossible to establish any kind of agreement (Orman 12-13). The Beatles were soon unable to work together. By all consuming drugs and having that one thing in common led to a split between members because they all had different attachments to it.'

http://www.freeessays.cc/db/33/mxe27.shtml

He used several sources, including John Orman's book, The Politics of Rock Music. Nelson- Hall, Chicago. 1984

If I also remember correctly, Lennon was a on a huge LSD trip during the Sgt. Pepper sessions, and McCartney basically took total control of the band during that time, something Lennon did not take to very well.

Well it sounds like a lot of girls I know who date guys in bands. I used to know a few. They just love the fact that they are guitarists or drummers or whatever, but then they start to get jealous of the music because half the time they just have to sit and watch as their boyfriends have all the fun at band practice.

Glad, I am a musician and can share that with Panamark.

Hey, you wanted me to post something. I did.

You can knock google all you want. I can come up with plenty of material to use in this, even going through my own collection of Beatles books. You ain't the only one with videos and books on them.

My point is, drugs affect the climate. You can believe whatever you want. Wasn't just pot either. LSD and heroin were involved too.

Pratically half the bands I like were adversely affected by either drugs or alcohol.

Only half?;)

If you want to go back and read it, I SAID MONEY, EGO, AND GUILT broke up the band, NOT DRUGS

followed by YOU claiming "it's not that simple", yet hanging onto the DRUG angle.

It's much "simpler" to suggest DRUGS BROKE UP THE BAND than to suggest it was a COMBINATION of money, ego, and guilt

Typical of you. You can NEVER admit to a bad post. No wonder your hero is Bush:rolleyes:

How does that equate to drugs being the ONLY thing, Lounge, from my perspective?

And I clarified what I said in a later post, and you are still treading the same shit...

Let's just all agree that it was a fuckin' major bummer that the Beatles broke up, even if the real reason was that Ringo wanted to be the major songwriter in the band after Abbey Road.

lounge im pretty sureyou're the one being subborn in this you refuse to admit that drugs could even possibly have had an effect on the break up, when the only way you could say it played no part is if you knew exactly what every member of the band was thinking at every moment of time before during and after the break up

Think Lennon was just tired of being a Beatle in the end, and wanted to do his own thing. The choosing sides over Eastman and Klein didn't help any, and Yoko's avant-garde approach to art may have inspired JL to want to break free of the Beatles (which, by the time Ono started sniffin' around, had already been taken over by Macca), but Lennon just wanted to be done with it.
