In honor of the recent clear slate given to Michael Jackson.

(Where even Jury members admitted they believe he was a
child molestor)

What are some other prime examples of lenient treatment
due to celebrity ? I realize its a time honored tradition in the
US, so this should be a huge list !!! ;)

A rough estimate would be, 0!

Well...none of them really had resources in the same way as MJ and OJ did (do). Nor were any of them in as much real trouble to have to worry about it.

Wynona Rider could be added to the list, though, I suppose.

Ok. lets look at this list as opposed to normal citizens.

Ok, Martha Stewart was what, CEO ?? Of a multi billion dollar
corporate collapse. What sentence did she receive ???
Wasnt it a few months ? Most company directors that
were proven guilty of orchestrating this kind of downfall
serve years.

So this actually supports the argument..

The rest of the names on your list spent minimal time in
holiday farms. The worst I can think of is Robert Downey JNR,
but he was allowed time off at regular intervals and
was even allowed to act at one stage, if my memory serves
me correctly.

Again, different set of rules for the rich..

How about Elvis screwing a 14 year old ????
Most countries would Jail a man for 25-30
for that..

Also that list was mino misdemeanors.

My point was, if you are rich and famous you can
literally get away with the serious crimes, such
as rape, child molesting and murder.

Actually, I think the Martha thing was overblown. She wasn't robbing her stockholders. She received inside info.

That's her broker who's guilty. You mean to tell me that if you were in a bar and some guy said "I've got a great tip on tomorrow's race at the track" you wouldn't take advantage of it?

She's guilty the way Pete Rose is guilty. Pete was making bets, but he was betting on his OWN team!

If I were the owner of that ballclub, I'd HUG the guy! I'd give him a fat bonus!

Martha didn't rip off anyone. She did what any of us would've done.

And BTW her having to go through that whole rigamarole cost a LOT of people their jobs. The prosecutors could have simply set a fine and everyone would've been better off.

(which I guess supports the thesis of the thread...b ut since it didn't work that way, it's proof that maybe there aren't such different laws.)

Thanks Sharkie !

Ive been looking for a true example of a celebrity
in the US that has actually been charged, and served
time. I know you have experience in this area, in
your opinion, how did Tyson's sentence stack up
against one that would be handed out to "Joe Citizen" ?
(For Rape)

Im surprised Tyson's defence didnt make the girl
he raped expose her vagina in court, then get
Mike to show that his cock was too big. :D

Get Johnny Cochran in,

"If the Dick dont fit, you must acquit !!"

Absurd ?? LAPD took pics of Michael Jackson's
cock, as it apparently has quite distintive colorings.
The boy that was paid off to shutup, knew these
colorings. No wonder he suddenly found himself
30 million dollars richer when the whole thing was
about to go to court ....
