A great song on an overall, comparatively, weak album by CVH standards. But it all comes together on that track, the energy, the lyrical subversiveness, and the whiz-bang killer guitar. I really don't think they ever composed a better overall rock song.

dave's lyrics and vocals on jump made that song cool, otherwise it would of been a very commercial reach like why can't this be love

Sorry, but I have 3 favorites:

1. Unchained - Agressive, gets your adrenaline flowing like no other.
2. Dance the Night Away - Beautiful song that captures the band in all their glory.
3. Can't Get This Stuff No More - The band sounds mature, like they would sound if they would've never separated. Every time I listen to it I just imagine them playing it in their induction to the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame ceremony...(induction of the real VH, not that crappy Van Hagar!)

'Best' is a hard category to apply to music.

That being said, 'Romeo's Delight' would be a good call. Why? Because it encapsulates everything that was great about CVH in 3 minutes - the energy, the great lyrics, the insane guitar playing.......what more do you want?

How about "Hear About It Later"? I have goosebumps everytime I listen to this track. Dave's scream in the intro makes me crazy. Al's syncopated fill-ins are great. I don't think Mike is a good bassist, but listen to the pumping bassline, it gives such a powerfull background for Ed's solo. And last but not least - the riff is just pefect. This is the definition of Van Halen as a real band.
