Keith pretty much insisted on minimizing Mick Taylor's role in the studio which was a huge mistake in my opinion. There are a lot of studio boots out there from that era which have versions of the songs that blow away the official album versions.

The final straw for Mick Taylor was said to be when Jagger/Richards, acting as producers of the "It's Only Rock n Roll" album, faded out Taylor's excellent solo on "Time Waits For No One".

Keith has always said that the key to the sound he had in the early days with Brian Jones and later with Woody was to mix up the sound so what it sounds like is one guitarist with 4 arms, rather than 2 seperate players. I guess it works for him, and it certainly DID work on albums like "Some Girls", but it's a damn shame that the best guitarist they ever had in the band was cast aside as a result. :(

Well, it would be better to put several mp3s into ONE zip file (as many as can be fit under 50Mb).

That way we only would have to download 2 or 3 files, and would not have to wait one hour per song.

Thanks for posting this. After reading about this it will be cool to hear it.
