MEXICO CITY (AP) -- WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko was ordered to fight the winner of the Hasim Rahman-Monte Barrett bout by the organization on Friday.

Rahman, a former champion, and Barrett will fight Aug. 13 in Chicago. WBC president Jose Sulaiman said Klitschko must then meet the winner of that bout.

Klitschko was considering a voluntary defense in September, and the WBC said Friday it would allow such a bout only with the approval of Rahman and Barrett. Regardless, Klitschko must face either Rahman or Barrett after that in a mandatory defense.

If Klitschko does not get approval to fight in September, the WBC said the winner of Rahman-Barrett must be medically approved to meet Klitschko from six to eight weeks after Aug. 13.

They all do.

I wish they would just get on with unifying the title, not only in the heavyweight division, but all of them.

Would bring back respect to the sport, in my opinion anyway.

Good fighters would do it...

which stems from good management...

and SMART promoters...who aren't ONLY in it to suck out the money...

I mean...we know they are ALL crooked...but you need to balance the crooked fucks with realizing they need to protect their investment...

More so now than ever.

Athletes are playing other sports, boxing doesn't have the allure it once did.
