View Full Version : Independent metal labels

Anyone remember Combat Records, distributed by IMPORTant records?
There were some killer groups on there:

Oz "III Warning"
Impaler's "if we all had brains we'd be dangerous"
Tension's "breaking point"

Too bad those labels don't have funding to reissue these on CD; in fact, the only Combat Records logo I see is on Megadeth's debut... "killing is my business and business is great" or whatever. Still, I'm kind of glad these labels stayed independent because if they were just bought out by major labels, it could've changed the integrity of the signed artist's music.

Anyone know why labels choose to stay independent vs. mainstream?
