I will mention as I did in the other thread, this recording sounds better, clearer to me than it was live with all the other noise going on. I couldn't hear David's voice nearly as well live as I can on this recording. So very cool. A crying shame the entire show didn't get recorded, especially that great performance of Jump as the encore at the end.. When, as 1984 was playing, he beckoned everyone to hold up their cell phones to the stage because he wanted to see the lights.. And considering the playing track "1984".. and all these people holding up their phones... Yeah, there's something there.. Satire, irony, something like that, I don't know. 1984. Anyway. Hurray for this recording! I'm really kicking myself I missed the first 25 minutes of the show.

If I was taking this audio in the way you just did, I may have been at the very least "skeptical" in my reviewing as well. HOWEVER--- Let's just say for the total experience, "You had to be there". Could he front the old band with more entertainment value than Sam? You better damn bet! Could go on and say that he got better as show went along, but that's been driven home already....

I've heard some great live clips here, where Dave has sounded great, I just didn't think this was one one them.
As far as the yelp, it reminds me of what he started doinq in songs like she's my machine, etc. Nobody ever screamed like Dave, but that yelp just bugs me. Probably becuse I was worried he lost the scream, which bummed me out even more. He did resurrect it though on the DLR Band record, which in my opinion is right up there with EEAS, and way better that anything VH ever did with Sam. There's a good example of it on King Of The Hill and Little Texas. Made me smile.
Just a personal preference man, and if I wasn't a Dave fan, we wouldn't even be having this conversation, cuz I wouldn't give a shit. But , like yourself, I do.
