The line "That's the thing about self-improvement" is intentional irony, as he used the same line on YFLM. Of course rehashing the same line isn't "self-improvement"....thats why that line is so funny. It's like an inside joke for those in the know, the ones who bought his previous album.

I believe this is Dave telling Eddie "I'm onto your horseshit, you won't tell the WHOLE truth, but you give small clues on your secretive plans for me and the future of the band...I've pieced it together, I see the whole pie, and I don't like it....so keep that in mind when we say goodbye...." And to the fans "Cause you can't get this stuff no more"

Which after that song, you can't get it anymore...it's prophetic in a way.

Come to think of it, Me Wise Magic is the other side of the CGTSNM coin. Dave confirms what I have always thought about his lyrics, that they are deeper than what you might think...and you could be listening to the same album 15 years later and hear a misunderstood lyric pop out, or the meaning will become evident...and you say "I GET IT NOW!"

At the time, EDDIE was going through his post-rehab metaphysical phase trying to grasp at some new self-awareness via therapy and new age bullshit...I think DAVE is sort of commenting on this and ED's seeking to fix himself externally.
