I like the MXR 90, but I'm wondering if the EVH Dunlop version is worth it for the extra setting. With regards to performance, someone who reviewed it said it was warmer and less high-end than the 90.
I like the Atomic Punk setting, but also want the option of something slower and less obvious because I don't really want to sound exactly like Ed if ya get me.

Thanks:killer:

I have a Boss PH-3 and an Electra from the early '80s.

The Electra is what always gets put in the chain when I use phase, it's different...and simpler to use. Very vintage sounding.

Try as many as you can...the Electra I got for $30!

I would take the Federation issue, more compact easy to hide from
wanton alien super babes in thigh high hooker boots.

However i do respect the power of the Romulan Disruptor.

sorry i had to....

EVH MXR Phase 90 is what I've got. And I love it.

I have a block logo mxr phase 90. It suits me fine. It sounds better clean than with the overdrive on my amp. I haven't tryed the EVH signature phaser yet. I've heard mixed reviews.

New EVH Sig Phase 90. No question. Get both the Block and Ed's old Script logo tone.

That built-in Phaser on my Pod XT (which I just use at home) is fucking terrible.

It's ALL about the EVH Phase90...tried one and loved it. Gonna go back and buy it...definitely worth it for the extra headroom alone, especially if you're running it in an effects loop....

There are some boutique pedals that are damn fine, but if I've got to pick from a big manufacturer then I would say the Phase 90. I would prefer a Script logo to a block logo.

I'm using my EVH Phase 90 as a Univibe. I have the knob set at 12:00. With a good Fuzz Face and Wah Wah, you are in Hendrix territory. Tottaly blows a cool Voodoo Child.

Question for the EVH Phase 90 users....

Does it boost volume alot? Or does it stay fairly even?

I have an old MXR Phase 100 that is GRATE!

It has four different settings plus the speed control...

Very nice!

You'll get a little boost, not much, just more a treble sweep than anything. The script logo tone (vintage Ed) is much smoother than the Block logo.

My block logo is choppier sounding than the smooth script logo phase 90.

I've got an MXR-90 and a Pigtronix EP-1.

The EP-1 is a stunner.
