Kicking this up again.

This album is the best work the Stones have done in 25 years.

Listen to it. You won't be sorry.

Agreed Ford, like almost everything on it.

I totally fucking agree!!!

I was working cleaning out a storage shed on my property today. I just put the fucker on and let it repeat.

I think the very first song "Rough Justice" is a motherfucker!!

This album is what the Stones are all about!!!

3 Cheers for Mick, Keef, Ronnie & Charlie!!!

Oh, and whatever bass-player of the week they had working with them in the studio...

It's still Darryl Jones for the tour, as it has been since Voodoo Lounge, but it's my understanding that most of the bass tracks on this record were played by Ronnie, Keith, and maybe even Mick. I'll be sure to read the liner notes when I get my "official" copy of the album.

Got part 1.

Can't get part 2. :(

Do you have to wait a certain amount of time between downloads?

Another question.

These are rar files. I'm not familiar with this type of file. How do you play 'em?

Thanks.

OK. Got part 2 now. I guess there is a time constraint.

.rar is a form of file compression like .zip. Nothing will play them directly, but WinRar (or most other file compression utilities) will decompress them and then they will play as MP3's.

RAR is a type of zip file format. You'll have to use a program called WinRAR to unzip the .rar files.

If you are able to change your ip-address you can get the 2 files right away.

Get part 1, change ip and delete browser cookies, get part 2.

Otherwise time delay in between parts is about 1 hour.

I have listened to this every day for the last week, and I am convinced it is their best record since the late 70s, say around Some Girls...

I am very impressed.

It has a little something for everybody....

Woohoo!

IF they come to Gnashville, I MIGHT consider going to see them this time around. So far they have only announced a date in Memphis.

On the 40 licks tour they played in Gnashville, but I was not interested in seeing them...heck I have seen them twice....

Thanks for the early "preview" Wawazat!!!!

My favs so far are This Place is Empty, Laugh I Nearly Died, and Dangerous Beauty.

Check out Mick on Laugh I Nearly Died...he hasn't whipped out that falsetto voice in quite awhile I believe. It's during the "I've been traveling far and wide" bit.

Well, seems like this new Stones album may be worth getting.

To me, I don't think they have put together an album of great songs since Tatoo You.

Granted, there have been some good songs since, all the way to their recent efforts, but for me, I just thought they couldn't get back to the greatness that to me hasn't been there since '81.

I will have to listen to the new one to really judge.

I've listened to "A Bigger Bang" in my car since Monday, focusing on the rockers. I dig it a fucking lot. Now I'm listening to it at home for the first time, and it kicks ass. The sound is amazing. As for the songs, they've obviously had inspiration faith and energy, and they'd had better have, 8 bloody years after "Bridges to Babylon" which was disappointing...

Mick is himself like hell, Keith is fit like hell (I only regret there aren't many real riffs, but the whole stuff is so coherent and exciting...), Ronnie plays like he always should if only he had braked earlier on his drug abuses... Charlie hits his kit like... like Charlie Watts, OK, but I may have all their records from the first one plus boots, I'll never get used to the power of that man.
Darryl Jones sounds great on the record too.

The usual background vocals (Lisa mmh Fisher, Bernard Fowler, etc) are much more discreet (I haven't even noticed them actually), and I don't remember hearing Master Bobby Keyes either...

Just a slight regret: Mick plays the harmonica on a few tracks, and I'm still not convinced he should keep on insisting, his lines aren't very pertinent. May they hire Magic Dick from the J. Geils Band, I think he's free these days...
Anyway, his vocals and lyrics are all that counts, and the Mick is still on top. It's a grand Stones album, which means a masterpiece generally speaking!

Damn.

Thought it was safe to write them off, too.

Rather amazing work, no shit.

Mick and Keith deserve a BIG tip of the hat.

I like that too...It reminds me of the Some Girls album for some reason. :)
