I don't know what thread I wrote it in, but I predicted this exact number in the linked article, and I said there would not be 10K dead, there would be 40,000. I'll look for the thread to link it here.

That does seem to be the "official" prediction for now.

On the other hand, the initial predictions for the World Trade Center were anywhere from 10,000 to 50,000 and eventually the final number from that ended up around 2,750 or so.

But even if the death toll from New Orleans is 10% of this estimate, or 4,000, then it has exceeded the death toll of 9-11-01.

Maybe one good thing can come out of this mess after all? Junior will finally have to shut the fuck up about 9-11, now that his idiocy killed more people in one day than Osama Bin Laden did.

it's a good thing i did that..

rescue plans need to know..

they can't depend on fema..

i took the population I heard of the city and how many were assumed to be evacuated and I made an estimate from that..
