I'm a fan of Huey Lewis and the News, but to say that "Sports" is better than "Fair Warning" is simply ridiculous.

I've seen him live in 1985 and he kicked ass...

some years later (HL was touring the "small world tour" ) my mother was asked by a friend (musician and also working in the local concert promoter scene) if she could drive him to the interconti hotel berlin. she did without knowing that this dickhead was getting the band's cocaine into the hotel...my mother suddenly found herself in HL's suite were he was watching football while his band was doing lines...

got an autograph and a pin from this meeting :D

DAVE'S TALENT COULD NOT SAVE THAT LACKLUSTER ALBUM, AND WE ALL KNOW DAVE IS THE GREATEST!!!!!!!!!

TERRY KILGORE CAN WRITE BETTER RIFFS THAN EDDIE, AND WHEN YOU LISTEN TO YFLM YOU CAN A SPECIAL CHEMISTRY THAT WILL NEVER BE DUPILICATED IN ROCK HISTORY AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!

ANYWAYS, I THINK IF YOU COMPARE SPORTS TO FAIR WARNING MUSICALLY IT'S SAFE TO SAY NOT ONLY IS THE SONG WRITING BETTER, BUT SO IS THE MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HEART & SOUL, IS AN INFECTOUS GROOVE AND IT'S WAY BETTER THAN THE SLOWER VAN HALEN STUFF LIKE PUSH COMES TO SHOVE!!!!!!

Those old Huey Lewis & The News songs bring back memories of more innocent and fun times. I guess not neccessary innocent but all the crap going on now wasn't and things were fun as hell. High School.

I couldn't make the show because I had to work...but Huey & The News played at Dublin High School a couple of months ago. A HIGH SCHOOL in the SUBURBS. I bet it kicked ass!

He's what they call "openly gay" unlike some of the posters 'round here. :D
Ever see the show American Bandstand? He wrote that song..."We're goin' hopping..."

He did indeed write alot songs...but didn't write one of his more popular songs called "I Write The Songs" :D

He fortunately didn't cross the French borders; there already are way too many national fags who won't find anything else to do in life than pissing our ears and getting on our nerves, singing the same old endless bullshit... Baah!:cool:

Beyond his look, Rod Stewart used to be a great, great songwriter and vocalist, mainly till the day the Faces broke up, didn't he?

And, well, there are worse bands than Huey Lewis and the News... I don't really dig them, but hearing their stuff from the 80s isn't unpleasant, it will remind me of flash memories of my teenage years.
But comparing them to CVH is like comparing a mule to the best racehorse.:)
