This is Spinal Tap!

Nigel: You know very much like, I'm really influenced by Mozart and Bach, and it's sort of in between those, really, it's like a Mach piece really.
Marty: What do you call this?
Nigel: Well, this piece is called "Lick My Love Pump."

Again, as much as I loved 1984, and a lot of the others on the list, I have to say that Ratt, Out of the Cellar was my favorite of '84, and remains in my top 10 albums all-time.

Well, Bruce Springsteen "Burn in the USA was a great album, but I'll to Van Halen 1984, since it's the 2nd album the majority of the people remember about VH.

Judas Priest's "Defenders of the Faith" is not on the list, but it needs to be mentioned here.

I think its one of the best albums of 84 and one of the greatest metal albums of all time.

1984 first. There's nothing like Van Halen with Roth at his peak.

Ratt- Out of the Cellar 2nd, but so close. It's still one of the best albums ever.

Of course THE MIGHTY VAN HALEN's swan song tops this list and till this day it is the only album on this list that I still listen to regularly.

Second thru Fourth I would have to list as:

Prince- Purple Rain (A landmark album in the soundtrack of my life...He may be a freaky midget, but the dude is simply one of the most underrated musicians of his generation)

Metallica- Ride the Lightning (Probably my favorite group if Classic VH never existed)

Run DMC- Run DMC (Like Hip-Hop or not, this was the LP that truly launched the genre into the stratosphere...their remake of Walk this Way with Aerosmith helped revitalize that band's career and officially brought hip-hop into the mainstream's consciousness)
