ALAE is my fave solo album, and "It's showtime!" is that ultimate motherfuckin' Dave song IMO...:D Every time I listen to it, no matter how well I know the track, I'm always as amazed as I was when I first played it 15 years ago. Ha! Ha!
You can't make it better than how it was recorded, really. The guitar parts are more than awesome, they sound a lot like CVH should have if only they had carried on with Diamond whose vocals just go through the ceiling...
Great riff, splendid break and solo, madhouse ambience: the perfect Dave-style party-time blast...

You're right...:D But it's another song, beyond similarities. I dig that one particularly, it all goes so insane and hilarious, Dave getting his kicks so much in there (and ain't that saying a lot :D), roarin' and shoutin' and howlin' and all...:) And Jason Becker plays incredibly fast though he's always so melodic - his fillings, the bridge and his solo would kick a bull elephant's ass and make him dance mambo!:D

And the paroxysm of the outro linked to the intro to "Drop in the bucket" is carved in my memory like in stone.:)
