GO IRISH

The lesser of two evils I guess.

POJO_Risin

This is the kind of game that could be a problem for a team like Notre Dame...especially coming off 2 big wins...

And a good time for doing some work here in my house ... not a game I need to watch ... lol.

Licking wounds against Eastern Michigan.

I would like to see if Leak from Florida is for real.

The Irish either play well against State or the suck big time. I think this current team will move the ball like crazy today, but I'm a little worried about the D again.

Go IRISH!!!!!

Claussen's starting today as well...for Tennessee. I'm curious to see what Tennessee does with their QB situation.

As for Michigan St/Notre Dame...I think just the opposite of you.

Notre Dame's defense, IMO, is one of the better in the country. It's their offense...that was dead in the water in the second half against a questionable Michigan D, that I question.

UVA with the last-second FG to beat the 'Cuse...

That's OK for me, I picked the Orange +7.5 in the pickem...

boy, u stupid

IT WAS PLUS 7 STUPID. AND IF YOU HAD 7.5 WHO GIVES A FUCK IF THEY WOULD HAVE SCORED THAT LAST TOUCHDOWN STUPID. I WOULD HAVE PUSHED INSTEAD OF WINNING. IF YOUR GONNA TALK GAMBLING, DON'T BE SO FUCKING STUPID AND MAKE AN ASS OF YOURSELF. THANK YOU. AND AL, HOW BOUT DOING SOME WORK ON YOUR HOUSE AND GETTING OFF THE COMPUTER FAGGOT. THANK YOU.

You stupid fuck--obviously don't know fucking dick about gambling...but probably know a lot about dick.

Had you have bet the UVA game earlier in the week, when the line was fucking 6, it would have made a bit of a difference.

dipshit.

Traditionally though, State has put up huge numbers against ND over the last few years. That's why I'm worried about the D. I think the offense from the PITT game will show up today.

lmfao, when is that fucking guy going to get his AD from Butler C3 already. Christ, you'd figure he'd be hooked up with his fucking Home Ec degree by now.

Phantom fucking Michigan State TD...Why bother having replay if you're not going to fucking use it???

boy, u stupid

It was never 6 faggot. It started at 9 and went down to 7 throughout the week. All the fucking time you spend on the internet, do a little research.

There's apparently a new rule in the NCAA this year...Only ND is allowed to be penalised.....

POJO_Risin
09-17-2005, 04:27 PM
What's the score? Last I looked, it was 13-7...

UCLA is tied with Okie...7-7...

Bama is up on USCarolina...14-7...their QB looks damn good.

Mr. Vengeance

Miracle of miracles....They finally call MS for a penalty...

Mr. Vengeance
09-17-2005, 04:36 PM
14-7 Michigan S. Horseshit TD, which was clearly dropped....

State is just moving the ball at will right now. That's why I was worried about our D.

POJO_Risin
09-17-2005, 04:39 PM
Dude...christ...relax...teams can have a let down...especially when you've been playing over your heads for 2 weeks.

Mr. Vengeance
09-17-2005, 04:53 PM
Can't relax.....love the Irish. 14-10 now. Irish recover a fumble and are moving in again!!!

I am not one to bitch about officials, but the lopsided penalty calls are just pissing me off today. Every call is against ND. A huge 40+ yard play wiped out....

Just fucking unreal.

POJO_Risin
09-17-2005, 05:18 PM
Well, to say that I've seen years go by with the Irish getting most of the calls wouldn't be an understatement.

When Notre Dame was a national title contender year in and year out, if there was a call to be made, it mostly went against their opponents. Things have to even out at some point...;)

Mr. Vengeance
09-17-2005, 05:49 PM

kid looks better than Mike..
vs/ Ohio , granted..;)

Well it only took three games this year before Irish fans starting whining about calls.

BTW Choklahoma really sucks this year. Getting manhandled by UCLA this week. Too funny.

POJO_Risin
09-17-2005, 06:07 PM
Marcus isn't close to Michael...he used to roll over 300 yards of total or more...against better teams...

its only 3rd quarter...;)

Marcus is a better passer...looks to throw 1st..good decision maker..no picks yet this year

I saw their first game, he looked pretty good to me. I just remember Michael being more dynamic and quicker. He may not be a better passer that's true.

It doesn't hurt to be in the ACC with FSU and Miami...

it's a real power conference now...as opposed to the Big East...that never really had a true 3 headed giant...

plus, the ACC's middle of the roaders are much, much better...

I hate this stupid fucking OT system in NCAA. You have two teams play a tough game and then they don't let them play in OT...Putting the ball on the 25 is just dumb.

I totally agree. Why not have sudden death in college like in the NFL? Instead, you have this system where both teams get a crack at it, and often times the game ends up going several overtimes before there is a winner. Totally pointless.

Brett
09-18-2005, 02:30 PM
It's a bad way to do it, but it's fair to both teams, it's not screwing either team. If ND had won, you wouldn't be saying a word man.

POJO_Risin
09-18-2005, 03:04 PM
I guess that's the thing that bothers me...

I could sit here and whine and moan about OT...but what's the fucking point.

OT in the NFL is absolutely ridiculous...the team that wins the coin toss wins something like 78% of the time...

explain to me how a fucking coin toss deciding victory is fair?

Bullshit. I hate the system no mater who wins. It's as stupid as having a shootout in hockey.

What they should do is let both teams have a possession, but, they play the game the same way as regulation. Why shorten the field? Make the teams fight it out.

Brett
09-18-2005, 07:20 PM
What's hockey?

The point is the system is FAIR to both teams. NFL OT is not. They shorten the field so that the game will actually end. If you let each team have a possession at their own 20, that could take forever.

Mr. Vengeance
09-18-2005, 07:25 PM
Noooooooooooooooo, you let them play a quarter. If they are still tied, it's a freaking tie.

Little Texan
09-18-2005, 08:20 PM
I don't get why people think the NFL sudden death OT is so unfair. Sure, if you lose the coin toss that may leave you at a little bit of a disadvantage, but the way I look at it, if your defense can't hold the other team and keep them from scoring, you don't deserve to win the game noways.

POJO_Risin
09-18-2005, 08:20 PM
If there's a possibility of a tie...then why have the fucking sudden death to begin with?

Mr. Vengeance
09-18-2005, 08:23 PM
Well, under my plan, it's not sudden death. Each team gets at least one series. But, you have a regular kick off and play the length of the field. You don't put the ball on the 25 where a team can get one good play and score.

POJO_Risin
09-18-2005, 08:24 PM

Okay...you need to look up the stats...

after 4 quarters...do you really think that the defenses are 100%?

It's essentially...literally...7 out of 10 times...the team that win's the toss...wins the game...it's turned into a game of chance...period...

POJO_Risin
09-18-2005, 08:27 PM
So...you are still saying that the game can end in a tie...

you see...NCAA doesn't want ties...so why would they have a scenario in which there is a tie.

Just out of curiousity...what's not fair about the current system?

Mr. Vengeance
09-18-2005, 09:10 PM
A team gets one good play, and they score. I just takes away from two teams playing a tough game.

The reason a team that wins the toss in the NFL wins so often is because the other team gets no shot. You win the toss, move the ball into FG range and hit it...game over.

Brett
09-20-2005, 06:34 PM
Dude a team can get one good play and score just as easily from the 40 or 50 as they can from the 25. What's the difference?

Both teams get the ball at the 25. It's 100% fair. It can't get much fairer. Both teams get a shot to score from the same situation.

The only thing that gets screwy with overtime is that points get out of whack, and it can look like a defense played worse than they did, giving up 35 points, but like 17 or 21 of them in OT.

The NCAA doesn't want ties, and if they play one quarter it could end in a tie. What's the point of playing OT then at all? The point of OT was to eliminate ties all together.
