View Full Version : Billy Gibbons wouldn't have killed the Hanoi Rocks dude.

I was thinking about this earlier, and I'm positive that Billy Gibbons wouldn't have killed the Hanoi Rocks dude if they had toured with 'em.

Vince Neil has eaten plenty of BBQ since then though, and now he's tearing ligaments instead of cars in half.

Plus, if Hanoi Rocks had toured with ZZ Top, they would've gotten different exposure.

Any thoughts?

Exposure to Blooze is always a good thing. And ZZ Top were never quite the stupid dumbass hellraisers that Crue were.

I agree with you completely.

Billy is the reason I am a guitarist. I had already been playing for about 4 years on acoustic when I saw the Top in Nov. of 1976.

After I saw them, I saved my money and 4 weeks later bought my first electric.

Most people these daze do not know this, but back then they were a supercharged, kickass fucking band...not the lame MTV generation bullshit they became.

Now they are so fucking slow in concert, that on their next tour they need to just put some cardboard cutouts or mannequins or some shit on the stage and just play a cd over the PA. The crowd won't know the difference.

I guess that is just a mild complaint, really. Billy is a DIRECT LINK to the 2nd generation of Blues Greats (First generation being Robert Johnson, Charlie Patton, Leadbelly, etc. who were born before 1920). 2nd generation being Buddy Guy, Muddy Waters, BB King, etc.

And so I will always give Billy his due. He is (despite the slowness of his live performance these days) badder than TEN motherfuckers!

But back on subject, fucking Razzle might still be alive today dammit.

It would be nice if Vince Neil were to be killed in a car wreck. It would be divine justice actually.
Stupid fucker.

Well, another good reason is he can't sing his way out of a paper bag....

I can come up with several reasons:

01. Killing people;
02. Shitty voice;
03. Fat;
04. Dumb;
05. Ugly;
06. No talent.

That's six.

ZZ Top kinda became a self-parody in the 1980s....the big beard, fur guitars, synths....before that time they were great....

Well, I don't know...even though they're blatant rip-offs of each other, I still like Eliminator and Afterburner a lot...

Not really. I just hate Vince Neil and Motley Crue. I don't own any of their crap and I never will because they fuckin' annoy me.

Nothing wrong with that.

I'm starting a new trend right here...

Lets all love Mick Mars!!!!!!!!!!!

I read that Crue book that they all wrote (I'm not a fan though) and Mick's chapters were the best. He had a girlfriend that used to beat the shit out of him. :D

Sorry guys...I'm a die hard Motley Crue fan...They're second in my book to CVH...

However, Billy Gibbons' tone is out-of-this-world in-fucking-sane. God, I love "Just Got Paid."

Only concert experience that can rival CVH was ZZ top!

I could never understand why there were so many gorgeous women with their shirts AND bras off at ZZ Top concerts.

Joints were being passed around like they gave them out upon admittance!

Crazy concerts, fo sho!

Somebody should photoshop Vince Neil falling into a volcano wearing a ZZ Top Fandango! cowboy suit.
