Like their older stuff. Lost track of them after they turned into a synth band in the mid 80's with songs about sleeping bags and TV dinners.

I downloaded the Best Of... ZZ Top and have a great time playing along to some of those classical riffs. "She dont love me, she loves my automobile"... Fuckin' ace! Love the older stuff.

THey are the real inspiration for me to play guitar.

Sure some other band might have inspired me, like Kiss (I saw them in January of 77), but it was Billy Gibbons that tore my head off and made me want to play electric.

That was almost 29 years ago, and I have been a serious player ever since...

I tell ya, Ol' Wille G plays the shit outta that guitar on Bar-B-Q...and alot of others.

"Ten Dollar Man" always sticks out as a break-fest that warped people like Andy Summers' and Adrian Belews' minds. All those fuckers site Gibbons. Fripp said something like, "I haven't figured alot of his stuff out."

I'm fond of "Rio Grande Mud". It's my fave. I've got "Tres Hombres" and "Fandango" too, really great stuff. Good time music!
I bought "Eliminator" when it was released when I was 13... Unforgettable.:)
"I got the 6!... Gimme your 9!..." :D This is unbeatable.

They should remaster their old albums, the sound of the actual reissues isn't satisfying.
Come on Warner, do something useful, like you did to CVH...

"Halleluuuiah, halleluuuuiah... ride my Chevrolet..."

I played "Rio Grande Mud" three times in my car this week, I didn't feel like I was driving my Peugeot.:)

I posted this somewhere else...

But the fucking hooters everywhere on the floor by stage!! Getting slapped in the head by 38 DDs! Right when they play pearl Necklace, 40 more tops come off!!!

Joints being passed around left and right...What a party!

Almost as good an experience as CVH! And that was only the Eliminator tour!

Fuck yes, I'm a fan! 8 cd's in my possession. But I think I'm gonna start looking for the early albums as LP's. I have Tejas as a "vinyl-rip", but that's not enough...
