What the fuck is the point of 1984?

1984 is a tiny snippet of hours of Ed noodling when he first set up his home studio, I'm pretty sure...
Donn Landee recorded it without Ed knowing it. I would like to spend a day or a week listening to tapes at 5150, despite popular opinion arond here

From what I heard...back in the day when 1984 was released fans did not accept it with open arms. The keyboards turned off a lot of fans. Now the album is known as the best of the bunch. I always liked the intro...if you have a good sound system...crank that shit up...it sounds really cool. Jump comes on right after so it's all good to me...

I think its grate how Jump just immediately kicks into high gear after 1984 fades.

Love how that happens.

And yes, with the right sound system, and cranked up, it sounds really cool.

I like keyboards in Rock just not in the front on every song
I liked it when Grand Funk added keyboards Many say thats
what let to their downfall not to me .Brass works well sometimes too.

Straight up Rock ZZ top style is the purest.mop

I listen to 1984 on a loop track while having a colonic. The bloopy vibe it has helps soften the shit.

Putting this in the songs forum, so it doesn't get lost in main.

...as well as most of the post-Dave music. :D

1984...the perfect intro to Jump...and to the rest of the album. It sets it all up, makes it grand!

One of the best VH classics to play guitar to. Drop Dead legs, Girl Gone Bad and Top Jimmy are fuckin' ace songs.
