My brother in law is a corporate exec for a national company in the Kansas City area...and every year the races at KC...he gets escorted around by the Busch and NASCAR series as potential sponsors...

keeps asking me to go...but just not as big a fan as I should be. Want to do it...but I can't see me going 1000 miles out of my way to see a NASCAR event...unless it's Daytona...

It was a great Busch Race though...Kahne the bitch won by an eyelash over Biffle...who had the better car...

KANSAS CITY - Saturday sure ended better for Kasey Kahne than the way it started.

Kahne crashed during NEXTEL Cup qualifying but came back Saturday afternoon to hold off the dominant car of Greg Biffle in a side-by-side showdown on the last lap to win the NASCAR Busch Series United Way 300 at Kansas Speedway.

Kahne took the lead with 11 laps to go and was able to keep in front of a hard-charging Biffle, who had pitted for four fresh tires on the day's final stop.

The two touched as they raced out of the second turn on the last lap and again made contact as they crossed the finish line with Kahne ahead by inches.

It was Kahne's second Busch win of the year, but first for car owner Ray Evernham and took some of the sting out of losing Kahne's primary Cup car in qualifying.

"I have no idea how I did that," Kahne said. "Greg had the fastest car all day. He definitely could get through the corner better than we were. We came off Turn 4, kind of used the side of his car and just had a little bit more momentum."

Yes Pojo excellent race. I have seen a couple races here.
Had a friend who had seats just inside turn 1 front row
above GA.Sold them so now im lost.Paid 400 for 4 seats got offered a 1000 for ea to sell so by they went.
I used to belong to a NASCAR club in KC a fun diff Bar every week
for the race type deal .DRINKIN! RACIN ! Big breasted American foxes!

I see your point of traveling so far and a Man( at least me )can only
handle a couple of Fav sports a year.
If i was a fan of all sports my heart would get broke in the play-offs or
whatever so many times id be in a clock tower lookin to get even.
GO CHIEFS!

WOW I missed that part.

I guess with all the modern protection nascar has introduced we just only think about the drivers not the race fans.

I can't remember what video I saw, but it was way back in the 1930s from youtube I think.../?? and a whole car when up in the stands taking out a bunch of people.

That modern fence held back a car completely in the air going 150 mph...amazing but still freekie.

It's amazing more people weren't injured.

Nascar needs to figure something out with these restrictor plate races.

It's amazing more people weren't injured.
Absolutely. When you consider some of the disastrous in open wheel racing, NASCAR has been lucky, nothing more. The U.S. 500 at Michigan Speedway in 1998, when a wreck threw a tire and other car parts into the grandstand, killing three spectators and injuring six others. Or at Charlotte during the 1999 VisionAire 500 IRL race, in which 3 people were killed and 8 more were injured when debris passed over a (then) 15-foot fence into the grandstands. Yet the worst was Le Mans in 1955, where over 80 people were killed, leading to Mercedes withdrawing from racing for decades.

Nascar needs to figure something out with these restrictor plate races.

Simple: Get rid of the plates, then park drivers who insist on blocking and mirror driving at 200 mph. It's obvious that the speed of the cars isn't the issue, it's the cars being forced to run in packs or bone-headed driving that causes the wrecks.
