3. Jimmy Page - Yardbirds, Led Zeppelin, The Firm
4. Jeff Beck - Yardbirds, Jeff Beck Group, Solo
5. Eddie Van Halen - Van Halen

i'd put jeff beck at number one , followed by eddie and then brian

jimmy page is shit live , beck owns him , eddie too

they DO revise the lists, so it's not a fixed list....which is grate in my book....

Warham

The Beatles weren't the best live band, of course. Their mastery was in the studio, where they never released a sub-par or even average album during their brief eight year career. It gave them plenty of time to put out clunkers after they all went solo. They've really had no competition that's come close in terms of popularity, and their immense fandom can be described by one word: Beatlemania, something rock 'n roll hasn't seen since. Almost everyone alive over forty can hum a Beatles tune, even if they don't speak English. I don't know if the same can be said for any other band.

I'm partial to "MUSTY SABADASH & THE SLACK-JAWED EXPLOSION"......

his last 3 albums , jeff , who else and you had it coming

are masterpieces of modern rock guitar

his 2 other early masterworks - blow by blow and wired

they simply confirm him as a GENIUS

Warham
10-14-2005, 04:09 PM
I can only count a handful of Queen songs that could even be considered classics. I think Van Halen even has them beat in this category.

QUEEN are amazing.

Right now, I'm thinking THE WHO. Tomorrow, I'll think LED ZEPPELIN. The day after, THE BEATLES. And after that, THE KINKS or THE DEAD KENNEDYS.

It always changes.

But where are A-HA?:D

Warham
10-14-2005, 05:31 PM
Yeah, I've got V. 1 & 2. I don't consider 'Fat Bottomed Girls' and 'Bicycle Race' classics. Sorry.

Rikk
10-14-2005, 05:32 PM
I beg to differ, WAR. But I would also say that 'TIL I DIE and THE TRADER (to me) are even bigger classics.

Warham
10-14-2005, 05:32 PM
The Queen songs I enjoy are 'You're My Best Friend', 'Crazy Little Thing Called Love' and 'Bohemian Rhapsody'. Maybe a couple others. Besides those, I have a hard time caring.

Jimmy Page
Brian May
EVH
Slash

Just cause jimmy sometimes wasnt that great live he still top in my book.

I have, but only on TV...Keith Moon...and Daltrey, you really can't learn how to sing with a voice like his, you're born with a sound like that...or not!

all these shows are avalable on DVD nowadays, which is amazing, but the dvd drive of my labtop is a fucking waste, and I cant really use it properly...I cunt even burn anything I download from the net...GAWD, I need a new computer.

If you hear Love Reign O'er Me, you see why Daltrey is considered one the best vocalists....

VH may have been better for a short span of time, but Queen is far more consistant overall, except I don't get this Paul Rogers thing.

some of hendrix's stuff WAS amazing , but i'm not a big fan of his playing style to be honest , beck always seemed more polished to me

i agree that brian may is def. a vastly underrated guitarist

i'd put him in the top 5 of all time

1. evh
2. jeff beck
3. brian may
4. tomsk
5. orinocho

It's a pretty subjective thing...I'd have to say Elvis' original band, just on the floodgate factor.

One night, Donita Sparks went, "I wanna thank all you stupid fucking rednecks for coming out to see us tonight!".....I thought L7 was the gratest band ever for awhile after that.
