I dunno about you guys but what a hell of a show. I dont know anyone who wouldnt enjoy it...
So...Anyone who was thier, share your story of the night you saw the best rock and roll show in 2005.

I drove with a buddy of mine on a 5 hour road trip to both calgary shows that they did there. Great memories and a killer show.
we smoked a little to much weed at both concerts and a few to many beers...but Still a great show.

Thoughts?

Went to the Manchester, NH show first time around. Great stage ... great "sideshows" ....but I think someone messed up with the sound.

I would have thought Tommy's bass drum notes would have made my stomach heave ... but it was all toned down ...there was even a lack of separate miking (or so it seemed) for the cymbals.

Yes ...it was a sonic blast ... but it was as if they were all sharing the same amps and had a lack of mics to go around.

On the upside ...I LOVED the track selection. I've been seeing them since they were an opener for Ozzy back in the day at the Boston Garden and this was the best song selection I've ever heard them do.

just sayin'

It wasn't much of a show here. I guess ol' Vince took the "break a leg" thing literally!

ya damn rite it was a helluva show! I saw 'em 2wice here in T.O., the last one in Aug., and this past Friday, I just bought the new LIVE DVD.

It was nothing short of amazing.

I believe that the Crue (Nikki specifically) thought that KISS' Psycho Circus Tour was missing A LOT of Circus-type events, and expanded on it with Crue, successfully.

I also couldn't help thinking that Motley Crue has become what CVH coulda been nowadays. Think about it, original members, guitarist that still plays but has a hard time carrying himself nowadays, and a lead singer that, well, we all know that Vince salutes Dave with his manner and style of showmanship. Not a duplicate, but y'know...

Carnival Of Sins was an amazing show. I had a hard time believing that this many people, at least in North America, were still into Crue!

I mean think about it: Crue burst into the scene with the likes of Ratt, Dokken, Bon Jovi, Quiet Riot and Twisted Sister. The only one of these bands that still rake in this kinda population worldwide is Bon Jovi. But then, they don't really count because they REALLY SOLD OUT in every sense of the words. But don't get me started on Bon Goo-Goo Jovi Dolls.....euchhh....that's another thread....

Crue came and kicked much @$$. And according to word on the new DVD, which I HIGHLY advise you scoop up, whether or not you were lucky enough to see this extravaganza in person - there's a new CD from the Crue on it's way soon...

Can't say enough of the Crue tour. It was unbelievable - and the new DVD is the PERFECT souvenir.

Engineroom you nailed it on the head. I believe that the DVD is a keepsake...how many here have wanted to look back at a Classic Van Halen show and not miss or forget anything. This DVD will remind me of the great times I had at these shows and for a young feller like myself that is something to be greatful for.

fucking great... the sound was a little off on the first few songs and i hated that cartoon in the middle of the show. Other than that top notch. I won my tix, so that was even better.

5-stars for EngineRoom. I bought the DVD based on your recommendation (ok. likely would have bought it anyway). You just reminded me that it was something I had to do and I thank you for it. It's far superior to the Lewd DVD, although the Hole drummer was a nice addition back then.

I thought it was ok, enjoyed the '98 tour better. I actually prefer Vince solo in concert more.

I'd love to go, just costed too much. Besides, they could have gotten a better opener.

Saw them 2wice this year. Once at Madison square garden....what a show! I was three sheets to the wind to begin with. By the time they came on they kicked ass straight through...my head was pounding...I hooked up with some cute chick in the audience...and since you can drink in there..it made the experience oh soooo good! A lot of fun! 2nd time was at Jones Beach Theater here on Long Island...for my birthday..another great show. Won't see them for awhile though....I';ve had my fix!
